The murder of a woman from one of the town's oldest families has Rosedale's upper crust howling for blood, and the prosecutor is counting on Ruby's inexperience to help him deliver a swift conviction. Ruby's client is a college football star who has returned home after a career-ending injury, and she is determined to build a defense that will stick. She finds help in unexpected quarters from Suzanne, a hard-charging attorney armed to the teeth, and Shorty, a diner cook who knows more than he lets on.

Used to love Patterson, every Patterson, right to the last word. Knew what was going to happen at most 1/2 way through, but it was still a good way to pass a long car ride. Would have been great story if wasn’t so obvious. I was hoping for a twist...

Ever a man of mystery and intrigue, Teddy Fay has donned a new disguise - that of Mark Weldon, a stuntman and actor starring in Centurion Studios' newest film. When the picture's leading lady begins receiving blackmail threats, Teddy is in the perfect position to investigate, and it soon becomes clear that the villains have more in their sights than just money. Money they've got. What they need is prestige, the cache of a respected studio to lend authority and legitimacy to their artistic endeavors...and a little bit of vengeance in the bargain.

The irresistible Stone Barrington returns for another racy adventure from number-one New York Times best-selling author Stuart Woods. Stone Barrington has faced intrigue before and come out clean on the other side, but this latest turn of events might be too scandalous even for him.

Best Barrington book he has written in a while.
More like the old ones - fun, exciting, and seemingly plausible. I enjoyed very much :)

In Dead in the Water, Stone has hardly arrived in St. Marks, a lovely Caribbean island nation, on a sailing vacation when something very strange happens: A beautiful young woman sails into the harbor, entirely alone on a large yacht. Before long she is under the intense scrutiny of the local authorities, in the very considerable person of Sir Winston Sutherland, the minister of justice.

I always enjoy the Stone Barrington stories and antics, but this one had a twist that I did not, and, unfortunately, that does not happen often. This book was a true pleasure to read or, actually, listen to 😉👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
