Josiah Stonewell dug his hands into the filthiest parts of my soul and molded a perfect little Walker. I don't know the exact moment I fell in love with him, but I do know that if anyone found out about our lingering stares, it would end his political career. Josiah's unexpected engagement has me squinting down the barrel of heartbreak, and to make matters worse; I find myself traded to Cyler Black and his leadership council in a distant Providence. Soon, Cyler and his team of passionate leaders start to feel like family, and I'm promised freedoms I never imagined were possible.

I always imagined Death's final kiss would be cold. It wasn't. Four years later, I can still remember the exact shade of his skin: a blue so pale it looked like moonlight. I dream of his touch. Mostly, I paint the man under the heavy cowl, including those perfect lips that ruined mine for anyone else. I'm obsessed with him. The doctors say he's nothing more than a hallucination caused by a mixture of head trauma and emergency pain medications. Now, something's changed, and my drawings are taking on a life of their own. Death is back. He wants another kiss. And he's not alone.

I adore this book - I own it in Kindle ebook, paperback, and now Audible formats. I love audiobooks; I listen to them while driving, doing chores, and at work... so basically all day. While I’m not super picky about voices, I will say that the narrator for this book is fantastic. I absolutely loved all of the character voices. I can see myself listening to this story again. And again. And again.

Forget everything you know about the world. Vampires exist, Werewolves exist, monsters hide in the shadows, and it's my job to make sure they obey our laws. My name is Evelyn, and I'm a gargoyle. The last one or so I thought. A team of Gargoyles have found me. And for the first time in over a century, I'm not the only one of my kind around, which is a good thing since demons are slipping into this world fully formed.

I’ll be honest, I read this book on kindle when it first released. I love this author, and I love this series. The plot is unique and I enjoy the characters.

I have one complaint; I may be a bit of an audiophile like Lexie (per her definition). I can’t listen to the male actor’s voice for Zahur without hearing Voldemort from the HP movies.

Not a huge deal, because there’s not a ton from his POV, and I’m probably just a crazy person, but I struggled a bit with just that one thing.

Overall, I loved it!
