The unimaginable has happened: the world has been plunged into all-out nuclear war. Sailing near the Arctic Circle, the USS Nathan James is relatively unscathed, but the future is grim and Captain Thomas is facing mutiny from the tattered remnants of his crew. With civilization in ruins, he urges those that remain - 152 men and 26 women - to pull together in search of land. Once they reach safety, however, the men and women on board realize that they are the earth's last remaining survivors.

What disappointed you about The Last Ship?

The basic story is good. The author gets lost in trying to make everything have a grandeur meaning. There seems to be some parts and reasons missing in the story. It is a book you need to work and have patience to get through. When it ends, you don't have any finality in the story.

What was most disappointing about William Brinkley’s story?

It doesn't seem to know where it is going

What does Christopher Lane bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Good character voice

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

A future expectation !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any additional comments?

This may be a book best listened to in the abridged version

What made the experience of listening to Alector’s Choice the most enjoyable?

The book is enjoyable, but it went back and history and did not seem to be connected with the first three books. Different charaters, different point of view and a difference as to who was good and who were bad.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Not at 20 hours plus.
