This is the kind of book that made me fall in love with science fiction. Thanks Brandon! Great character development, technology, and story. I like the direction you've taken with this book, though I've loved your fantasy works as well. I hope a follow up is in the works.
Awesome pick for narrator, also.

In a world wrecked by portal experiments and repopulated with fantastic and mythical creatures, the unique Vince has built a country with a strong sense of community and loyalty. All of this centers on the powerful and driven Vince and his many amazing and capable wives, who are bound together in a dynamic family organism fueled by dryad magic.
In this book Vince must protect what he has built from invading armies with their dragons. He goes out with a select group to wreak havoc on the enemy and recruit allies (including adding dragons of his own to the family).
Andrea Parsneau is wonderful as narrator. She really brings the action to life with inflection and emotion, even delightful sighs and moans, all appropriate to the scene's events. It's astounding how many unique and charming voices she creates and manages so that the great dialogue in the story is enjoyable and easy to follow.

Felix would like nothing more than to take a vacation. A long one. One where he didn’t have to wake up every morning and worry over casualty lists for the day. Ever since he and the Legion had been forced to flee their headquarters four years previous, nothing had gone quite right. In fact, Felix and the Legion have been locked in a shadow war with enemies unknown. Ones with magic that could carve through their technology easily.

This excellent series continues with even more fascinating characters and plot twists, along with the return of some beloved old friends.
It was awesome to see Felicity from the Wild Wastes come into her own, and the crossing over of dragonkin and dryads into Felix's circle was most welcome.
I can't wait to see where all of this is going, but I hope these characters whom I'm really starting to love get to enjoy each other before long. Their trials are beginning to be heartwrenching!
Appearances from Srit and Sophia brought back some good times too

My name's Noah Kilmartin. I'm from Ruddock, Ohio, and I'm absolutely, 100 percent unqualified to save the universe from the slavering demonic hordes of the super evil queen Lilith. Too bad nobody asked my opinion. All I've got to do is pass five lethal trials that'll prove I'm the universe's last chance at salvation. To do so, I'll have to lean hard on those three years of Okinawan jiu-jutsu classes I took in high school, learn to wield my new magic sword, and, oh yeah - select five women to flesh out my team.

This book has an interesting premise, great characters, and some awesome action, but narrows its audience too much with pointless profanity, extended torture and blasphemous expletives. Other crudities are part of the genre and I can't really credibly complain about them except the degree made me wince at times. I hope the author will exercise some common sense in editing the next installment so as to broaden the appeal of what could be a great series.

In a world full of super powers, Felix had a pretty crappy one. After learning to harness his ability to modify any item he owns, he now runs a corporation that is rapidly expanding - Legion. After tangling with the local Heroes guild they’ve finally settled into a semblance of stability. Sounds great on paper. Run your company, make money, be your own boss, settle down. Except that with running a business, comes an inordinate amount of responsibilities. Like making sure everything keeps running and your people are paid.

This side trip from my usual fantasy fare turned out to be very engrossing and exciting, to the point that I could scarcely put it down. The world presented, and the Legion organization introduced so many unique powers and situations, along with interesting characters you'd like to spend more time with. To that point, I would have liked to see the author spend another chapter or two after Felix's harrowing ordeal and the final confrontation to explore his inner circle's reactions and feelings. As it stands, everything is wrapped up with a brief epilogue.
Deadlines must be met, I suppose.

Summoned to a world in the midst of apocalypse, Daniel Black would have his hands full just staying alive. Add in refugees, desperate soldiers, scheming nobles and a pair of thoroughly wicked witches, and life is going to be very busy indeed. Good thing he has magic of his own to even the scales. But will even that be enough?

This book was fun and imaginative but lapses into grossness damaged it for me. The pretext for the story and the main characters were appealing, and the magic basis, but the author abandons playful and subtle sexual themes for grotesque excess at times. I didn't like his messing with the mental image I had of the main witch which was quite pleasant by giving her demonic morphology late in the story. Oh well, I enjoyed a protagonist who was powerful.

This is a very satisfying series and a lot of fun, as a super-intelligent, clever, and beautiful orphan girl is thrust into a world of immortal elves and hideously cruel monsters. It is very moving at times to watch this loving, conciliatory girl find love and use for her talents with the fantastic beings she finds herself among after a dimension-altering space gate moves her city into the world of the elves and oni. Many bizarre and wonderful creatures find reason to support her fight against prejudice and treachery as they fight some brutally sadistic enemies.
Sporadic jarring lapses into vulgar profanity were the only negatives I noticed, as the love sequences focussed more on the parties feelings and fulfillment and not on clinical anatomy descriptions.

This is a very enjoyable performance, once you adapt to a new way of pronouncing names and locations by this narrator. I actually found her voice characterizations to be quite good. The author continues to develop the contributions of many characters and groups as they deal with the reappearance of magic and the growing threat from an ambitious outside conquerer.
This is obviously an installment in a large unfolding story, especially in the way it ends, so I anxiously await the next book. This is a very involving series, and I really like the way it mainly follows the story from the good peoples points of view.

I got into the Liveship Traders trilogy after hearing the audio sample on the website, intrigued by Anne Flosnik's style and the unique feel of the world Robin Hobb had created. I was so drawn in by Robin's detailed creation, and could almost feel like this was the recounting of things that really happened somewhere, not something made up. So many characters' viewpoints are integrated to make a sweeping and absorbing whole, it is truly an awesome work. There are many frustrations and tragic turns, much like we all experience in life, and nothing seemed contrived or pointless, and the characters grew and learned as the story went along. I was riveted from start to finish. Fortunately, there are satisfying resolutions to many of the threads by the end of Ship of Destiny, but I did not want the story to end!

I thought Anne Flosnik's style was very appropriate for this set of books, and I thoroughly enjoyed her performance, though I must admit I used the 'faster' playback setting on my Ipod to get the pace up.

A great use of a credit!
