I truly enjoyed this book. The plot and the narrators were great. Racism is really alive in the US. We must all do our part to educate others. No ONE has the right to judge people by their skin color. We all bleed and hurt the same.

The Summer Garden is the third volume in Simons's magnificent trilogy - a Russian Thorn Birds - which follows a love that survived the terrible siege of Leningrad during World War Two, a heartbreaking separation, and a glorious reunion in America, only to be supremely tested by the hatred, fear, and uncertainty of the Cold War. You will never forget the lovers Tatiana and Alexander and their story of enduring love and commitment, and you will cherish every moment spent in The Summer Garden.

The golden skies, the translucent twilight, the white nights all hold the promise of youth, of love, of eternal renewal. The war has not yet touched this city of fallen grandeur or the lives of two sisters, Tatiana and Dasha Metanova, who share a single room in a cramped apartment with their brother and parents. Their world is turned upside down when Hitler's armies attack Russia and begin their unstoppable blitz to Leningrad.

Narrator did a great job. IMO the story is written poorly. Extremely disorganized story. If you like a book that goes from past to present in a blink of an eye, this is the book for you. 2 crazy guys, a drunken investigator.

I will finish it because I paid for it. Did not enjoy this 1

Everyone in the quiet Jersey Shore town of Silver Bay knows the story: on a Sunday evening in September 1991, Ramsey Miller threw a blowout block party, then murdered his beautiful wife and three-year-old daughter. But everyone is wrong. The daughter got away. Now she is nearly eighteen and tired of living in secrecy. Under the name Melanie Denison, she has spent the last fifteen years in small-town West Virginia as part of the Witness Protection Program. She has never been allowed to travel, go to a school dance, or even have internet at home. Precautions must be taken at every turn, because Ramsey Miller was never caught and might still be looking for his daughter.
