There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

For dinosaurs, it was a big rock. For humans: Coronal Mass Ejection (CME). When the Earth is hit by the greatest CME in recorded history (several times larger than the Carrington Event of 1859), the combined societies of the planet's most developed nations struggle to adapt to a life thrust back into the Dark Ages. In the United States, the military scrambles to speed the nation's recovery on multiple fronts including putting down riots, establishing relief camps, delivering medical aid, and bringing communication and travel back on line. Just as a real foothold is established in retaking the skies (utilizing existing commercial aircraft supplemented by military resources and ground control systems), a mysterious virus takes hold of the population, spreading globally over the very flight routes that the survivors fought so hard to rebuild.

Overall I like the commune, it was entertaining and interesting read. But not the best post apocalyptic book I have read. I picked it up on sale, so cant complain about that front. Still debating about continuing with the series, I have some other books to get through and think I will delay the decision for a few. If the author sticks with a trilogy I should come back, but if he does a marathon of books I might be out from a financial vs enjoyment perspective

Nothing ever changes in Sanders. The town's still got a video store, for God's sake. So why doesn't Eli Teague want to leave? Not that he'd ever admit it, but maybe he's been waiting - waiting for the traveler to come back. The one who's roared into his life twice before, pausing just long enough to drop tantalizing clues before disappearing in a cloud of gunfire and a squeal of tires. The one who's a walking anachronism, with her tricorne hat, flintlock rifle, and steampunked Model A Ford.

I only listen to audiobooks when I am driving and this is one of those books that made me look forward to jumping into my car. It's only the 2nd Peter Clines book and I picked it up on sale. The story and characters are very intriguing and I wanted to know where it all goes. Of course with time travel stories you can't put too much thought into the story or you start to second guess it all. But I thought Cline did a good job on not stumbling over himself in this area and Ray Porter was a good reader

The folks in Mike Erikson's small New England town would say he's just your average, everyday guy. And that's exactly how Mike likes it. Sure, the life he's chosen isn't much of a challenge to someone with his unique gifts, but he's content with his quiet and peaceful existence. That is, until an old friend presents him with an irresistible mystery, one that Mike is uniquely qualified to solve.

The reader did an excellent job and fold had an intriguing story as we learned what the rings really did. I only listen when I drive and was looking forward to getting back in the car to continue the story.

Picked this up free with Audible special, I saw the movie a few years ago and was interested in how the book end. My past experience with free audible books has not been great, but not the case with I am legend. I found it enjoyable and different from the movie. It was a short book, but for the story it will long enough

In a future so real and near it might be now, something happens when women go to sleep: They become shrouded in a cocoon-like gauze. If they are awakened, if the gauze wrapping their bodies is disturbed or violated, the women become feral and spectacularly violent; and while they sleep they go to another place.... The men of our world are abandoned, left to their increasingly primal devices. One woman, however, the mysterious Evie, is immune to the blessing or curse of the sleeping disease.

I have been a big Tufo fan since ZF book1. When I discovered Indian Hill I actually liked it more then ZF. The story continues to be good, but after book 3 I have found it lacking direction. The characters are still great to listen to and the book is pure entertainment. Because of this I will continue to go on, but have to be honest that I am enjoying expeditionary force by Craig Alanson, it has similarities to Indian Hill and definitely worth checking it out.
