The Adventures of Tom Sawyer depicts the life of an imaginative, troublesome boy in the American West of the 1840s. The novel is intensely dramatic in its construction, taking the form of a series of comic vignettes based on Tom's exploits. These vignettes are linked together by a darker story that grows in importance throughout the novel - Tom's life-threatening entanglement with the murderer Injun Joe.

"Three knives were buried up to their brass cross guards in the man's chest. Richard recognized the knife handles. All three were the style carried by the men of the First File. He looked from those blades that should have killed the big man, up to his face. That was when he realized the true horror of the situation, and the reason for the unbearable stench of death." Sequel to the #1 New York Times best seller The Omen Machine.

this novel was an excellent addition to the sword of truth series. It worked seamlessly with the rest of the novels. Telling the amazing backstory to the great war. with all of these novels i simply wish there was both a male and female narrator for the parts. having a man voice a young female childs voice like Rachels is about as funny as when a woman voices an old man. Not at all saying either didn't do an awesome job telling the tale. I personally think it would just help the story play better in my mind when listening :0) all in all though exceptional writing and Christina Traister did an incredible job with narration. So thank you to both Terry Goodkind and Christina Traister for the enthralling entertainment.
