Al Franken, Giant of the Senate is a book about an unlikely campaign that had an even more improbable ending: the closest outcome in history and an unprecedented eight-month recount saga, which is pretty funny in retrospect. It's a book about what happens when the nation's foremost progressive satirist gets a chance to serve in the United States Senate and, defying the low expectations of the pundit class, actually turns out to be good at it.

Al Franken rocks. Smart, funny and sensitive to the issues that mattered. Wanted to run out a volunteer for something when I was done. I learned so much from this book about the basic workings of the political process. Looking forward to the next book!

Unless you are really into the science of nutrition this is not the book for you. Unlike what she promises, this is a difficult diet to follow all the way. Like the idea of smoothies for breakfast and she's got some good recipes if you like eating lots of meat. But to follow all the way is very difficult if you are an average person trying to be healthy. Bummed me out.
