Last of the Breed
- By: Louis L'Amour
- Narrated by: David Strathairn
- Length: 13 hrs and 23 mins
This is the compelling story of U.S. Air Force Major Joe Mack, a man born out of time. When his experimental aircraft is forced down in Russia and he escapes a Soviet prison camp, he must call upon the ancient skills of his Indian forebears to survive the vast Siberian wilderness. Only one route lies open to Mack: the path of his ancestors, overland to the Bering Strait and across the sea to America. But in pursuit is a legendary tracker....
A western "indian" story set in Siberia

Phenomenal Book - supper settler tho
If you can get past the explicit and transnational settler colonial overtones this is an excellent book. Well narrated, phenomenally written (what else would you expect from L'Amour?); I was enthralled from chapter 1. I can't over state this, L'Amour is a master story teller!
That being said...jeeze! Settler much? Seriously, L'Amour must use the words "savage" and "red indian" more than Richard H. Pratt 😂😭😭 its actually kind of astounding.
All in all I found this a romantic, if slightly humorous, romp through the Siberian wilderness.
The X-Files: Cold Cases

Based upon the graphic novels by Joe Harris - with creative direction from series creator Chris Carter - and adapted specifically for the audio format by aural auteur Dirk Maggs ( The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Alien: Out of the Shadows), Cold Cases marks yet another thrilling addition to the pantheon of X-Files stories.
