Rose Mae Lolley is a fierce and dirty girl, long-suppressed under flowery skirts and bow-trimmed ballet flats. As "Mrs. Ro Grandee" she's trapped in a marriage that's thick with love and sick with abuse. Her true self has been bound in the chains of marital bliss in rural Texas, letting "Ro" make eggs, iron shirts, and take her punches.

What made the experience of listening to Gods in Alabama the most enjoyable?

Amazing, captivating story. I love "Southern" books.so the setting was great. I enjoyed the relationship dynamic of the characters.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Burr, what a catch!

Have you listened to any of Catherine Taber’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No.

Any additional comments?

I don't get the music incorporated into the audiobook. It felt like I was listening to a really bad radio soap opera from the 30s. The music really took away from the whole experience.

What made the experience of listening to Dying for Chocolate the most enjoyable?

The series is great and the characters captivating.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Dying for Chocolate?

Mother-son relationship

How could the performance have been better?

I can't stand te narrator. Can't the mute out her swallowing and mouth noises? She also cones across whiny sometimes. Makes me a little crazy- the reason I have requested the rest of the series from the local library to read.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No.

Running all their daylight errands - from letting in the plumber to picking up some chilled O neg - gives her a look at the not-so-glamorous side of vampire life. Her rules are strict; relationships with vamps are strictly business, not friendship - and certainly not anything else. But then she finds her newest client, Cal, poisoned on his kitchen floor, and only Iris can help.
