Although this is listed as a romance it is much more about the front lines of war and its affects on the lives and psyche of those who serve. This appears to be very realistic.
The development of the characters and their interactions is excellent. Military, medical volunteers, insurgents, civilians and clergy and the varied attitudes and reactions to what they are exposed to.
I gained a little insight into their feelings and an immense gratitude toward those who serve. Thank you for all you do in the defense of our country
This book was given to me and probably would not have picked it on my own. It was excellent and I would encourage anyone to listen to it

I have yet to listen to a story that Ms Daniels has written that I don’t love. Her characters have such complicated personalities and well developed interactions.
Two young people struggling with the grief of the loss of a loved one and their relationships with family.

This is an exceptionally well written book. Multifaceted personalities and superb character development. I felt it started out slowly but after the first 10-12 chapters it picked up in intensity. The story follows historical ideas of Jack the Ripper and his victims. Murder, mystery, mistakes, love and second chances. From London’s east side to New York City.
I didn’t like the narrator at first but she seemed to get better as the story unfolded. She did a great job with the different accents.
It was written in a style like “A Woman of Substance “ Some sexual scenes but done with taste and sensitivity.
I would definitely recommend this book

This a wonderful series. The men are strong and unassuming. Preacher has a heart of gold and helps anyone in need. His size and appearance often scare those who don’t know him. Uncomfortable with women and shy he senses Paige needs his help. A battered woman with a young child running and lost walks into the bar and changes his life forever.
The narrator was excellent and character development deepened as the story progressed.
This also continues the lives of Mel and Jake. Ready for the next book

I love this author. The development of the characters was increasingly complicated. Narrators were spot on. Listened straight through , couldn’t stop. Then boom. The worst ending ever. After a great story it just stopped with really no finish. A sixth grader could have done better.

I like sex scenes but it seemed like that was all there was in the first hour so I almost stopped listening.

When the story started emerging we got to know the characters. There was a decent development of relationship and individual personalities. Both seemed rather shallow in the beginning until more than half way through the book.
Not my favorite listen but it was on sale. Definitely some steamy sex scenes with a little twist. The narrator was above average.

I like this series so far but Jeffrey sounds like "Dragnet". Not much expression. Seraphine did a good job with both male and female voices. I felt like I got a small glimpse into the struggles of an addict.
Definitely worth the read.
