Something quite odd is happening in Second World - the planet's foremost MMORPG. Something that's causing alliances to be broken, and friendships, forgotten. A worthless low-level mine becomes the stage of vicious battles, its burned ruins suddenly contested by the game's toughest clans. Every border is controlled, and every road in the province blocked off. The weak players and NPCs alike are subjected to non-stop violent raids courtesy of Eastern invaders. And the strong are scouring the virtual world for the culprit - the weirdest noob the game has ever seen.

Great book.
It had enough of the rpg aura about it without becoming all numbers.
Great story with just enough action and intrigue to wrap everything into a good feeling of what’s about to happen.
I liked the narration, it was well done.

In The Land: Predators, the Mist Village has harnessed its power. With core buildings, professional fighters, and now their own dungeon, the settlement is primed to grow into a kingdom of true power and magic. The path to power has not been without risk, however. The MistVillage has been noticed. Evil nobles from the Kingdom of Law, bloodthirsty goblins from the Serrated Mountains, an undead lord with a penchant for human sacrifice, and fanatical kobolds from the Depths all plot the village's destruction.

Great story.

Well done and well performed.
I would like to continue the story, but I do audiobook and only chose this because of its low price, and I was very happy to find such a good story.
Sadly at this time book 2s price point is more than I can spend, so I’ll have to wait.

I’m disappointed in that, but I loved the story and found that so far I’m a fan.

It’s worth the time.

Tad Lonnerman is having a crappy day stuck in crappy traffic late to a crappy meeting. On the bright side, his game development career is the only non-crappy thing he has going for him, so life isn't all bad. At least until he dies. Now Tad finds himself uploaded to a beta test of Haven, an unannounced hyper-immersive MMO where the dead have a second chance at life. It's not virtual reality, it's digital reality. A true afterlife online. Except Haven isn't exactly blissful paradise.

Story: Excellent continuation of an exciting and enjoyable saga.
Performance: I have come to throughly enjoy Phodehl’s reading. Especially his inflection on the MCs overlord id persona and very Earth modern style.
Overall Appeal: No complaints. Very good, even great, which can be hard to hold onto throughout a long saga.
