When driven by a goal, the impossible oft becomes doable, like slaughtering an entire coven of the Twice Cursed God’s adepts without mercy, or leading a legion of demons to storm the last bastion of the Cursed Princedom. But as the impossible hurdles keep on coming, even that drive may not be enough for Krian to escape Demon Grounds, make it to the higher plane, reunite with his sister and friend, and exact vengeance on his mortal enemy....

Well it was a good book.
The title is misleading, but I won’t complain there, however Akella has done better.
Still good and worth it to me.

When Gunnar Long is transported into the first fully-immersive virtual MMORPG, he finds himself in a new world filled with magic, mystery, and adventure. No more 9-to-5 job. No more studio apartment. No more reality TV. Finally, he's in a place where he can call home, a place with people he can call friends. But as more people want to trade their real world lives to get inside Eden's Gate, the government of the outside world wants the "game" shut down at all costs.

So I enjoyed the story, and all but I can see where some have marked the story down as not the best of the genre.
This story misses some things, like the characters are not as focused as any gamer would be on the things we expect such as leveling and epic loot.
I mean what gamer easily gives up any kind of epic loot?

Any way, it was still good.

Proczko gave a great performance and really pulled in some of the story’s down-slide, exceptionally well.
Bravo to him.

Worth a 5 to me, but it’s probably for reasons outside of easily explained more like a 3.5 to anyone not hard up for the LitRPG stories like I am.

Worth the listen anyway you swing it.
Enjoy.

Another great addition to the Expeditionary Force Series.
Alanson has managed to grab and hold attention by continuing to keep live the “beer can”, and Col. Joe, friendship and interactions.
The story continues to grow, but thankfully never spirals and continues to remain in scope, giving us a sense that we see all the issues and can interpret and prejudge the “how to moments”, which always seem to go beyond the guesses..
I am a fan and I hope Alanson can keep it up.

Bray like I’ve come to expect now, gave a great performance, and I would gladly recommend listening to him in any book anyone might find appealing that he’s narrated.

When a minor trade partner sends the Castle Federation a desperate call for aid, they have few resources to spare from their all-consuming war against the Terran Commonwealth. Unwilling to be seen failing their allies but able to spare only a tiny force, Castle sends a hero to command the task group: Captain Kyle Roberts, the Stellar Fox. Beyond the Rimward frontier of the Federation and its allies, little is as it seems. The pirates are being armed by an outside force, and the politics of these worlds is made deadlier by their poverty.

Another great book from Stewart which thankfully still follows the “Stellar Fox”.

A lot of series branch by the fourth or fifth book, but Stewart has grit his teeth and held on to his storytelling from the Fox’s view, something I was glad to see.

I also liked the fact that Stewart has once again changed scenery to let us see more of the galaxy in general, and doesn’t have us stuck in a few systems out of the thousands described to be within the different governments control.

I am not going to talk about the story more than generalization, but will say that this is better than the last and a great book.

Summerer’s performance was exactly as I have come to expect and was a great experience.

Living in a virtual game world sounds like the ultimate dream. Plenty of action, intrigue, and guess who gets to be the big hero? But what happens when that digital reality gets flipped on its head? Bad guys are after your sweet loot, your fancy title is loaded with unrealistic expectations, and achieving such a high level comes with a big fat target on your back. Something has to give, so when a new crusader faction rolls into town, Talon senses an opportunity.

During her first weeks in the deeply immersive VR game, Relic Online, she’s hacked out a home from a choking jungle, gathered a tribe of loyal followers, and earned a wisp stalker who insists she’s some kind of champion. But Relic Online isn’t some wussy kids game, and there will be no easy-street cruising for Devon. Like a monk racking up combo points, the system opens a fresh offensive by crippling her most powerful ability. Following through, it strangles the village food supply, sends demons bursting through rifts in the Earth, and delivers a final, devastating throat punch.

Great book.
Enjoyed it and I think any fan of the series will as well.

My only issue is that there was no end of book chapter or two giving a peak at our MC, kinda blowing off the all encompassing overview feel the previous books have given us, when the end book has given POV of Max’s group.
Why no vice-versa at eob, here?

Anyway great book, great story, and great performance.
Podehl has done Akella proud again.
