Jack Olsen is consistent in his writing, always introducing the character and the family, friends, surroundings and life events before we know what has been done. He does this with detail and empathy, drawing the reader in.

Kevin Pierce, who is one of the greatest narrators, never disappoints, reading the story with regard and respect for what has been written and with a voice of which one never tires of listening.

This pairing of Olsen and Pierce is always on the top of my listening list.

Slow on the start and have to really pay attention to the first couple of chapters but a great listen!!

The narrator did not bother me as she did some other reviewers. I think as a listener/reader I would have been able to tell who was saying what without being told after each sentence. The story line was ok and had the potential to be good, which is why I kept listening until the end. Without spoiling anything I thought that the end was terrible....I hate endings that keep the reader hanging. I would probably stay with more predictable authors that can write great mysteries without being so mundane

What did you love best about Cold Kill?

There is really never anything to 'love' about a true crime killer tale. But, this was easy to follow and listen to and actually finished it in less than three days.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Cold Kill?

I enjoyed Theresa and the lengths she went to in order to trap a killer, even when her co-workers and police had little to no faith in her.

What does Kevin Pierce bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Mr. Pierce never disappoints in his story narration. He is consistent, brings characters to life and does something to compel the listener to stay engaged and want to listen just a little longer.

What’s the most interesting tidbit you’ve picked up from this book?

That perhaps our system is remiss in identifying persons troubled by mental disorders. Cindy was obviously disturbed early on and continued to become worse in her delusions and convincingly relating these delusions to others as pure truth. Her condition emboldened her to convince her lover to help her dispose of her imagined problems. Her sisters, as well as her mother and father later, were aware of Cindy's issues but did nothing to encourage her to obtain help.

Any additional comments?

I really wanted more of this story/book. I would like to have known about the trial and if the two were ever remorseful .
I was given this audible book at no charge for my true and unbiased review.
