Being a Dog is a scientifically rigorous book that presents cutting-edge research with literary flair. Revealing such surprising facts as panting dogs cannot smell to explaining how dogs tell time by detecting lingering smells, Horowitz covers the topic of noses - both canine and human - from curious and always fascinating angles. As we come to understand how rich, complex, and exciting the world around us appears to a dog's sense of smell, we can begin to better appreciate it through our own.

Non fiction can be boring, or slow, or hard to follow. But I found Being a Dog by Alexandra Horowitz fascinating & intriguing. Of course I listened to this mostly while walking my dog. It made me think a lot. She has a thoroughness to her research that is exactly how I like to attack a problem, from every possible angle. Not only that, but the descriptive words that she uses paint a vivid picture of everything that she wants to show us. I will definitely read more of her books.

Many of my listeners come to me with many questions about their interactions with narcissists. They want to know how to outsmart the narcissists who are making them feel as though they are going crazy. Some of them want to learn how to interact better with their narcissists. Many readers are truly baffled by their partners. They aren't sure whether to love them or leave them.

How to appease a narcissist should be the title of this book. I have been with my narcissist for 27 years. Surviving & thriving is all about taking care of yourself. This books only discusses how to try to make the narcissist happy. And bonding with a narcissist is a laughable concept!
