Terrorists have acquired a terrible new weapon that can crash the power grid and plunge America into a new dark age. A coordinated attack is planned to shut out all lights and emergency services to 10 major cities. Planes will fall, hospitals will go dark, no help will come. And in that terrible darkness, a dreadful plague will be released. If the lights go off, nothing can stop the bioweapon from killing millions. At the same time, the intelligence services are being torn apart from within by a plague of betrayal, murder, and suicide.

THE NARRATOR WAS AWFUL. TO THE POINT WHERE I ALMOST COULD NOT LISTEN TO THIS BOOK. THIS STORY NEEDED KEVIN PIERCE OR Sean Runnette .....
MOREOVER, IT'S SAD WHEN THE FIRST BOOK IS GOOD, THE SEQUAL HAS SO MUCH POTENTIAL...... WHICH THIS BOOK DID.... AND THEN.....TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT...
THE STORY HAD TO MANY REALLY THIN PARTS..... THE "TRIAL" THAT KYLE WENT THROUGH IS AN EXAMPLE WHERE IT GOT WAY THIN, NOT BELIEVABLE..
ALSO, THE "MATH" JUST AINT THERE....THE AUTHOR MADE THE STORY REAL THIN WHEN ALL THE BELOVED ANIMALS WERE KILLED OFF... IF HE WOULD HAVE JUST STUCK TO 1 ANIMAL IT WOULD HAVE BEEN BELIEVABLE AND BROUGHT THE STRONG SADNESS THE AUTHOR WAS LOOKING FOR. ALSO KYLE WAS WAY TO "TOUCHY FEELY" IN THIS BOOK...... SO MUCH EMPATHY IT WAS NOT BELIEVABLE.... IF THERE IS TO BE BOOK 3? PLEASE GET KEVIN PIERCE OR SEAN RUNNETTE.... AND DON'T TURN KYLE INTO A GIRLY MAN...

WELL IT WORKED... THE STORY IS VERY GOOD AND OF COURSE WHEN KEVIN PIERCE NARRATES ANYTHING IT MAKES IT BETTER... IF YOUR LOOKING FOR BRADLEY'S SURVIVALIST SERIES AND CHARACTERS LIKE MASON REESE FROM THAT BOOK.... KEEP LOOKING.. IF YOU CAN PUT UP WITH A HEAVY RELIGOUS UNDERTONE TO LISTEN TO A DARN FINE STORY BUY THIS BOOK...

It's not easy being king. Especially when you've got an allergy to sunrise and sunset, a fire goddess for a mother-in-law, demonic adversaries, random assassins, and a basement full of insecurities to cope with. Add to that his daughter, the fire priestess/princess; a couple of lightly deranged professional magicians; a whole city full of wizards; and enough squabbling princes to resemble a kindergarten argument. It's enough to make a man want to just go home.

Eric didn't ask to be a vampire. In fact he didn't even believe in them. Biting your own tongue with your fangs does a lot of convincing. Even so, being a part-time undead isn't as easy as you might think. It can let you hold down a day job, true, but sometimes the night "life" can be more than a little difficult, what with those bloodthirsty urges and predatory instincts kicking in.

The Superpox-99 virus has wiped out nearly the entire human race. Governments have collapsed. Cities have become graveyards filled with unspeakable horror. People have resorted to scavenging from the dead, or taking from the living. The entire industrialized world has become a wasteland of abandoned cars, decaying bodies, and feral animals. To stay alive, U.S. Deputy Marshal Mason Raines must forage for food, water, and gasoline while outgunning those who seek to take advantage of the apocalyptic anarchy. Together with his giant Irish wolfhound, Bowie, he aligns with survivors of the town of Boone in a life and death struggle against a gang of violent criminals. With each deadly encounter, Mason is force to accept his place as one of the nation's few remaining lawmen. In a world now populated by escaped convicts, paranoid mutants, and government hit squads, his only hope to save the townspeople is to enforce his own brand of frontier justice.
