In a scrap heap within an abandoned factory, the greatest invention in history lies dormant and unused. By what fatal error of judgment has its value gone unrecognized, its brilliant inventor punished rather than rewarded for his efforts? In defense of those greatest of human qualities that have made civilization possible, one man sets out to show what would happen to the world if all the heroes of innovation and industry went on strike.

Amazing book! It’s crazy how Ayn Rand nailed the concept of socialist movements and how they always discourage producers from producing which inevitably leads to the downfall of all socialist economic experiments when the producers simply shrug off social demands. Brilliantly written. I loved this book.

Mistakes become more costly, and failure becomes a real possibility for all those who are not able to make the transition. But imagine being able to sell your products when others cannot, being able to take market share from your competitors, and knowing the precise formulas that would allow you to expand your sales while others make excuses.

This book was useful to me because my business barely survived the Great Recession as well. Seeing how a business master does business is in stark contrast to the way most people run a business during tough economic times. Really good book Grant.

At once naturalistic epic, captivity narrative, road novel, and transcendental gospel, Steinbeck’s, The Grapes of Wrath is perhaps the most American of American classics. Although it follows the movement of thousands of men and women and the transformation of an entire nation during the Dust Bowl migration of the 1930s, The Grapes of Wrath is also the story of one Oklahoma farm family, the Joads, who are forced to travel west to the promised land of California.

This book was frustrating to read at times because the characters do not make decisions the way I would given their circumstances. But that is because they are simple minded country folks with incredibly strong morals and hearts of gold. I really lived and hated the ending.

But even a maverick plays by rules, and Trump has formulated time-tested guidelines for success. Imagine what Atari might have achieved if Steve Jobs had stayed there to develop the first massmarket personal computer. Or what Steve Case might have done for PepsiCo if he hadn't left for a gaming start-up that eventually became AOL. What if Salomon Brothers had kept Michael Bloomberg, or Bear Stearns had exploited the inventive ideas of Stephen Ross? Scores of top-tier entrepreneurs worked for established corporations before they struck out on their own and became self-made billionaires.
