I may be newly divorced, stranded in a small mountain town, and working as an elf at a cut-your-own-Christmas-tree farm, but I'm finally rid of my ex and putting food on the table. Independence rocks, and I've got zero interest in the former-SEAL-turned-firefighter who literally falls out of the sky and lands at my feet. Okay. Not zero interest. Jacks Benson is the foul-mouthed, irritating, way-too-sexy bad boy who tormented me through high school.

The story had potential but from the start, the female narrator irritated me. She sounded like an 80 year old granny and completely turned me off. I tried to push through but just could not do it so turned it off after 30 minutes.

Cute short love stories. The second one had me laughing out loud. Both narrators are good (although Alexander’s girl voice was mildly annoying). The stories themselves are endearing.

So you may ask, who is Adam Connor? He is the recently divorced, Academy Award-winning actor who just moved in next door with his kid. He also happens to be an exquisite male specimen and the most infuriating sly bastard I've ever come across. While I was being thoughtful by not breaking and entering, and was actually considering going over to offer him a shoulder to cry on (you know, because of his divorce), instead he had me thrown in jail after a small incident. Jail, people!

The conflict just went on & on. Way too long and skipped chapters to speed it up.

I liked jay in the first book but she is an a hole in this one. And she uses her zodiac sign to justify her behavior? And he acts like an idiot (which does not match his “douchey” personality).

The language was absolutely ridiculous at times. I am not adverse to foul language. But some of the phrases sound like something you would hear in a grade school hallway. And this affected many of the exchanges.

Some cute and funny parts. There were times I laughed out loud. But overall found this to be unmemorable.

I actually read the stories of the Morgan brothers before the series and liked those stories WAY better.

It had great potential but fell way off the mark.

First, it was way too long and drawn out. Josh and Kat’s story did not require 3 books. I was skipping chapters consistently and felt like I missed nothing as the story progressed.

Secondly, Josh started as a strong character but did he have to relinquish his man card in order to prove his love?

I found the proposal ridiculous. He felt the need to prove his love by bringing a third party in? And that made her happy? I get the need for the grand gesture but that was a giant fail!

The behavior at the wedding was off putting. I get wanting to laugh but, there are supposed to be older members of the family there...just saying.... and how many times did we need to hear about sharting? Once was enough. I am not a prude but, c’mon. It was only funny the first time.

I found some of the language absolutely ridiculous. I asked myself “how old is this author?” The cursing sounded like grade schoolers made it up. I am not adverse to foul language but never in my life have I heard someone say the phrase “oh my fuck”. And the characters used that phrase a lot. It actually annoyed me. And I don’t think the author (as the narrator) had ever heard someone say “holy crapola”. She said it so strangely it took me a while to figure out what she was saying.

I will admit there were some funny and sweet parts. But this is just not a story i will want to remember.

I thought the series started out strong and had a lot of potential. But this third installment left me disappointed. I thought the love story was great but the conflict was like an after thought. And the ending was unbelievable and abrupt. We spent the first 3/4 of the book discussing the issue then two chapters to wrap it up in a bow. And with a scenario that is implausible.

Obviously, if you listened to the first two you have to listen to the third but don’t expect much.

I really enjoyed the first book. And was anxious to continue. The characters were great. But the strong confident female lead is gone in this book. She is an outright a-hole. I understand she was going through some stuff but her behavior was ridiculous and made me hate her. I understand that he broke her trust but ever time he reached out to her, she invoked suspicion in him that she should have been aware of. She put absolutely no thought into how her behavior would affect him knowing his hang ups. She knew how much he cared for her but she refused to tell him the truth for what?? To make a point? And then she would pull him in and act lovey then crush him again. She was playing a game that was absolutely unfair to him. And it kept happening over and over. Way too long!!

I did not even finish; it was just too frustrating.

Trevor Willis is sexy, sweet, and oh so fun. He’s also my best friend’s brother-in-law. That should mean he’s off-limits, or that I should be off-limits to him. Someone probably should have told us that before my best friend married his brother, before the morning of the wedding, when we woke in each other’s arms with gaping holes in my memory.

The first volume made me think the story had potential. The premise is far fetched but I thought I would be able to suspend my disbelief and just enjoy the story for what it was. But after vol 2, I have changed my mind. We were led to believe that the main characters were strong people. But their behavior in this book goes directly against the characters developed in the first part. I found myself saying wtf out loud many many times. She became a flighty airhead and he became a giant pussy afraid to tell her something she should have known and that he had no control over. I have lost all respect for both of these characters after vol 2. And have no desire to finish the series.
