For David Goggins, childhood was a nightmare - poverty, prejudice, and physical abuse colored his days and haunted his nights. But through self-discipline, mental toughness, and hard work, Goggins transformed himself from a depressed, overweight young man with no future into a US Armed Forces icon and one of the world's top endurance athletes. The only man in history to complete elite training as a Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, and Air Force Tactical Air Controller, he went on to set records in numerous endurance events.

The average person has 70,000 thoughts every day, and many of those thoughts trigger a corresponding emotion. No wonder so many of us often feel like we're controlled by our emotions. Our lives would be much improved is we controlled them. Joyce Meyer discusses the way that the brain processes and stores memories and thoughts, and then - emotion by emotion - she explains how we can manage our reactions to those emotions.

I plan to listen again and again. The information is spot on, it makes sense, it presents a challenge to self to leave the past behind and to look forward. I hold more creative power for my future than I've ever realized. I know say all day to myself, I want, I have, I am. Im so busy doing that, I don't have time to focus on minding other people's business or focusing on what i dont want. She is correct about dealing with negative reaccuring issues. You must alter your beliefs about it by presenting new positive thoughts and information towards it, in order for your mind to let it go. The info is ancient and said in many different ways throughout cultures and in history. Something simple like, "If you can't say something nice, dont say anything at all". This old adage, is the Law of attraction.
The key to forging ahead begins with daily application. I am, I want, I am now creating my Life.

Would you listen to Attached: The New Science of Adult Attachment and How It Can Help You Find - And Keep - Love again? Why?

Yes I listened. Yes it will help me respect and Love myself and be true to who I am from now on! I am no longer afraid to lose the person I call my soulmate now. I realize that maybe they(a moderate AVOIDANCE) are incapable of meeting MY -NO LONGER ashamed of- needs. I can have what I desire and if I don't find my true love someday, at least I won't waist time in a Dead-IN relationship.

What does Walter Dixon bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I have been fighting my True self all my life. I always said, "I don't need anyone. I can do Everything on my own. As if there was something wrong with my natural tendency to have companionship. Now I will celebrate who I am and know that there isn't anything wrong with me. I am a changed woman. I know it will take practice and a possible re-listen but, I am so thankful for this book. Now if only I can get my "other half" to listen.

What insight do you think you’ll apply from Attached: The New Science of Adult Attachment and How It Can Help You Find - And Keep - Love?

Everything! lol

Any additional comments?

This book has made such an impact on my life, I am buying 2 more copies. One for a girlfriend and the other for my mate. Thank you!

In December of 2011, I gave a talk to an audience of scientists, Pentagon officials, politicians, and CEOs on the secret of life and how I'd figured it out the previous summer. Afterward, people came up individually and told me how much what I'd shared meant to them. This book is based on the truth I spoke about. It's something I learned from within myself, something I believed saved me. And more than that, the way I set about to do it. This is a collection of thoughts on what I learned, what worked, what didn't. Where I succeed and importantly, where I fail daily.
