Waking up in hell is not Del Bellator’s idea of a good time. She’d rather be back on earth, killing demons and hunting down magical treasure for her shop, Ancient Magic. Turns out escaping hell is easy - it’s staying out that’s hard. Del's dragon magic is illegal in the supernatural world. Worse, she doesn’t know how to control it. And if others learn her secret, she’s dead. Things get ugly when the Warden of the Underworld shows up to drag her back to hell. He’s a one of a kind demon shifter - the sexiest, most powerful one she’s ever met - and he’s set his sights on her.

Dragon's Gift: The Seeker Complete Series

By: Linsey Hall Narrated by: Laurel Schroeder

I liked the series and the imagination it took to create this unusual place. The characters were well developed and unique from other stories. I think I would have loved to read this series.

The narration was a bit juvenile. The cadence of the reading made it hard to become a part of the story; there was no attention given to punctuation or emotion. The story was read in 4-5 word statements, regardless of where the words were in relation to a sentence, idea, or even the character portrayed at the time. It was definitely a hard listen and I had to stop throughout the story and move onto something else for a while.

Overall, I have to dive the book an overall average rating of 2.5 stars; 4 for the story and 1 for the narration.

Finding Freedom the Zion Series, Book 1

By: Brittany Nicole Lewis Narrated by: Rick Barr

Finding Freedom is the answer to my prayers. Finally! A Christian based series that reads like a story, not a sermon! I love it. Katie and Michael are your typical teens dealing with life, only in a different type of environment; Zion is a private community with a few odd requirements, or for lack of a better word, “rules.” These twins are different in so many ways; Michael is a strict “follow the rules with no question of authority” guy, where Katie is a bit of a Rebel and finds herself questioning every aspect of the societal norms. This difference leads them in very different directions in life.

I instantly became intrigued by their story. The characters are well developed and easily relatable. I felt every emotion with them. I found the story quite entertaining.

My only negative is that the population of Zion seemed to have an extremely formal communication. The lack of slang and “typical conversational language” took away from the story; but not so much so that I could not enjoy it.
Overall, I rate the story with 4 stars; I loved it and I’m already listening to book two.

The murder was brutal. The scene resembled a slaughterhouse. "We need Nate Burns," Jack Mill said and set about getting the medically retired detective to Vegas. Such a simple request will lead Nate not only on a manhunt across the country but also back in time 30 years, where he will struggle to understand the implications of the Cold War.

Dance with the Devils is another awesome adventure with Nate. This is one man you can’t keep down; no matter what you do! I love him and his family. This time the tables are turned and Jack brings him into the investigation and this one is HUGE! I love how these mysteries are solved the “Nate way” and look forward to all his cases. Another huge 5 star book and I’m sure this will not be the last; I look forward to hearing more!

Enter a world that is the ultimate valentine to those cheap and cheesy sci-fi/fantasy flicks from the 80s - a world with hot chicks, blind cyclopean wizards with bad attitudes, swamp zombies, purple cannibalistic aliens, talking gambling mutants that will cook you breakfast, hover-bikes, a gigantic ghost warrior, a ninja, a recently divorced and suicidal sorcerer, dragons, a cyborg demon and borrowed movie dialogue.

Deathmaster: Adventures in the 39th Uncharted Dimension

By: Kent Hill Narrated by: J. Scott Bennett

I couldn’t listen to this story without pausing it periodically to laugh. It was hilariously entertaining and a little bit twisted too. I kept picturing it being written by a group of college kids sitting around brainstorming with the help of acid or mushrooms. Yes, it was that out there, both literally and figuratively; after all, it is set in the 39th uncharted dimension. This is a must get for your next road trip (adults only). I loved it and think anyone with any kind of dense of humor will to. Deathmaster is easily a 5 star book.

Allison's Secret
By: D Stalter Narrated by: J. Scott Bennett

Allison is the perfect woman; strong, smart, compassionate, tough and so bad ass! I’m not usually into the apocalypse stories; but I loved this story. I like the unique way this story is told; each character comes into the story together at one point, with everyone becoming one community, working together to help and protect one another. This story is full of unexpected “surprises.” I like that. The narrator did a great job; he is definitely becoming one of my favorites. I feel this book deserves nothing less than a 5 star rating and will be watching for more of this story.

Nashville Rising Star

By: Maxine Douglas Narrated by: Cathy Cunningham Fennel

I can’t wait to see what’s in store for these characters. The author did a great job with the personalities and I already love all of them. I think I see an intimate relationship brewing, but I’m not sure how I will feel about that. I both want to see them together and I don’t.

The writing was excellent; the perfect amount of character development given when it was needed. The characters are easily relatable. The narrator did a great job, but I think there should be recorded songs on line to go with the book.
This is a short story leading into what’s going to be an awesome series. Even though this was super short, it was written just right for the length. Overall, I give this short and sweet story a 5 star rating.

Mindfulness for the Mindless: A No Nonsense Guide to Breaking Free from a Mindless Life

By: John Burley Narrated by: Kevin E Green

Mindfulness for the Mindless is an interesting way to look at things. I found this book both fun to listen to and helpful; which is rare in self help books. Burley threw in a little humor where he could to keep it fun, while including excellent explanations of his ideas. The narrator did a great job expressing what the author wanted to say. I liked this book and give it a rating of 4 stars.

I loved the way the story unfolded as it progressed. I would have never have guessed the ending, and I love when that happens. I loved all the characters and felt for them all; I do have a few favorites.

The narration was perfect in every way; the emotion, the cadence and the way the personalities shone in the characters. Overall, I feel confident in rating The Last Rite with 5 stars. I will be looking for more.

I'm Bella Shade, and I live in New York, a city terrorized by the teenage vampires of the Red Claws gang. Those evil monsters have allegedly murdered dozens of people here in Manhattan, including my mom. So far, the NYPD has no clue. Except for the fact that all their victims have been found with bite marks on their neck, no blood left in their bodies, and with their vital organs surgically removed. I never expected that I'd be next in line.... Hunted by vampires and forced to take part in a paranormal war I never wanted a part of, I might be the only one who can stop them.

Teen Vampires 1: The Red Claws Gang: (Bella Shade Paranormal Romance)
By Hannah Hill Narrated by: Mason Philippe-Auguste
Teen Vampire is the start to what seems to be an interesting new series. I wish the author would have taken a little more time on the back story and character development. I felt everything was rushed and left no room for suspense. It was over before I could become interested in the outcome.
On the positive side, the narrator did a good job. In spite of that, I have to rate this with 3 stars. It was good, but could have been better.

The Last Page

This was well written and narrated short story. It’s obvious the author was setting readers up for something bigger; however, the story suffered from the need to make it short. I would have liked a little more of a back story, as I was confused for a large percentage of the beginning. The setting was imaginative and interesting; I wish I could have spent a little more time there. I know this will be a great series, but I think I’ll wait until I can read or listen to the entire series at once. I’m not a fan of cliffhangers. The narrator did a great job, it sounded as if the story was written for him.
Overall I give this story a rating of 3 stars; I liked it but it could have been better.
