Ride along with 9-year old “sunling” Gustafer, in this otherworldly, melancholy musical comedy that takes place entirely on our closest star - The Sun! As if the stress of the annual Tiger Face holiday season wasn’t enough, the young sun-dweller Gustafer must face the nasty neighborhood bullies and overcome his fear of telling his father the awful truth: he doesn’t want to inherit the family raisin-butchering business. Despite help from his best friend Ellen and over-achieving big brother, Ben, Gustafer faces the ultimate crossroad when he sees a darker opportunity to control his own destiny on the Sun.

The Indignities of Being a Woman candidly traces the history of womanhood and investigates how much things have really changed for womankind. By carefully x-raying areas such as body image, marriage, mental illness, fashion, and politics, this audiobook examines what it was like to be a woman in the past versus what it’s like now, when women are constantly told equality between the sexes exists but reality proves otherwise.

The conference call sketch that starts everything off is just immaculate. Funny, surprising, and waaaaay too true to real life. Then, the story takes off and it's crazy to think that they improvised the scenes and plot as they went! So many great performers are involved in this and pop up everywhere -- Paul F. Tompkins, Lauren Lapkus, and D'Arcy Carden (love her on the Good Place!)...and about a million more. So far my highlights are the bagel guys, horace, and Bogus the Cat. Cant wait to hear more!

Randy and Jason Sklar have a knack for exploring what makes America’s cities unique and wonderful, whether it’s finding out who in San Diego serves the best burritos, why basketball is so popular among those in Bloomington, or why the people of Portland can't let go of their old airport carpeting.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I love the intimate feel of this documentary. I knew these guys were funny, but they're also quite thoughtful about their comedy. Plus, I love "going" to places where I haven't been yet -- Madison, WI in particular was an awesome chapter and a really fun look into that college town.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Sklars and Stripes?

The uncomfortable moments in Tulsa, at Oral Roberts and the "where are you from?" comments from that creepy guy. But the indoor farmers's market, organic co-op, and ice cream shops in Madison were all pretty great. Oh, and Daniel Van Kirk getting too scared for the elevator in St. Louis is probably a personal highlight.

What does The Sklar Brothers bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

This isn't a book and isn't an audiobook...so it feels like they did this just for the medium. It's totally different, and I like that. Plus, you get an entire stand-up album in Chapter 12 as a bonus!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

So...what you do for funny around here?

Any additional comments?

It's an enjoyable documentary about a very weird year in our country's history, featuring some really funny, adventurous guys. I would definitely recommend to friends and comedy fans.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Kevin Pollak in Stinker Lets Loose was awesome

Have you listened to any of the narrator’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This was an audio documentary and didn't have a narrator -- which was fine!

Any additional comments?

Really quick and fun listen, free for members (which is nice)

Would you consider the audio edition of Story Party: The Complete Collection to be better than the print version?

We love so many of the Story Party editions, so my family is super excited to have them ALL on one title in our Audible app. It's so special that this is only available in audio, and not in print -- so it makes our road trips and school dropoffs that much more special.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Sam is a perfect host -- my kids love her! And of course, there are so many new and different characters from the many stories in the collection.

What does the narrator bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Sam helps guide the pieces along and reinforces the lessons & teachings of each one. She really helps the children focus and follow along from story to story.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made my kids laugh so much! They won't leave the car when we get home sometimes, because they just want to keep listening to Story Party.

Any additional comments?

This is a very cool (and different) addition to the Audible Kids catalogue. I hope they feature more special kids programs like this!

I didn't listen in time for the holidays...but who cares?! It was inventive, funny, and IMPROVISED in a crazy good way. Talented folks!

What other book might you compare A Very Improvised Holiday Musical (Extended Edition) to and why?

It was like an improvised sketch comedy show combined with a mini musical! Not sure what compares to it, and that's a good thing

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I love that Audible is doing MORE than audiobooks!
