What did you love best about The Waste Lands?

I enjoyed the characters and the way King just draws you into his story. This was a fantastic followup to the Drawing of The Three. I did not like the ending in that it did not feel like a good conclusion, with the conclusion really being with the beginning of Wizard and Glass.

What does Frank Muller bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

His voices and tone give an amazing energy to the characters of Eddie and Roland.

If you could take any character from The Waste Lands out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Susanna Dean. She just seems like an amazingly strong person.

In the first book of this brilliant series, Stephen King introduces listeners to one of his most powerful creations: Roland of Gilead, The Last Gunslinger. He is a haunting figure, a loner on a spellbinding journey into good and evil. In his desolate world, which frighteningly mirrors our own, Roland tracks The Man in Black, encounters an enticing woman named Alice, and begins a friendship with the boy from New York named Jake.

This is the first book of The Dark Tower series and though a short book it reads like many of King's bigger novels. It draws you in and introduces you to a vast set of worlds. If you like Sci-fi/Western/Fantasy with some Meta then this is a book for you. I will certainly listen to it again.
