When Earl Alden is found dead, dangling from a wind turbine, it's his wife, Missy, who is arrested. Unfortunately for Joe Pickett, Missy is his mother-in- law, a woman he dislikes heartily, and now he doesn't know what to do-especially when the early signs point to her being guilty as sin. But then things happen to make Joe wonder: Is Earl's death what it appears to be? Is Missy being set up? He has the county DA and sheriff on one side, his wife on the other, his estranged friend Nate on a lethal mission of his own, and some powerful interests breathing down his neck.

Have never been disappointed by this series. I have purchased a lot of them and will continue my addiction to do so. Dreading the day this series will come to an end, if that should happen. The characters have begun to feel like family.

This was an amazing story and it should be heard by everyone. A fantastic story to portray a message of such value to mankind. Made me think of what my values and priorities are, for sure, and in such a fun and light hearted way too. Wish I could 'gift' this to every person. Listen! I can't believe you would ever regret hearing it.

I loved every moment listening to this fabulous book! One of the things I really appreciated was that there was no vulgarity or crude & disgusting language used in it. It seems that authors are thinking they need to add that element as a mandatory item anymore and it takes away from the book or movie so much. Such a regret. The story was tender, the characters realistic and the ending was bittersweet. I loved 'Singer" and cried for his gallantry in the end. Absolutely a beautiful, beautiful book and am so glad to be able to listen to it. I would have given 10 stars if I could have. Thank you.

It's an idyllic late-summer day in Saddlestring, Wyoming, and game warden Joe Pickett is fly-fishing with his two daughters when he stumbles upon the mutilated body of a moose. Whatever - or whoever - attacked the animal was ruthless: half the animal's face has been sliced away, the skin peeled back from the flesh. Shaken by the sight, Joe starts to investigate what he hopes in an isolated incident.

I have yet to be disappointed in The Joe Pickett Series. I know when I buy one of the books that I am in for a good listen and it is so wonderful to be able to rely on that. I want to recommend this series to anyone who enjoys nature, rustic settings and family all tied into a great mystery. I especially appreciate that the language is very decent and they are not filled with all the disgusting words that seem to coming into so many books now. That is so tiring
and berates the story and the author, in my opinion,

It's been over a decade since Nora left her hometown of Scupper Island, Maine, and very seldom looked back. She's carved out a successful life in Boston, where no one knows her as the awkward girl with the delinquent sister and the dad who left, but a not-as-dramatic-as-it-sounds brush with death has her taking stock of her life. Inspired to reconnect with her prickly mother and snarky teenage niece, Nora returns home for the summer, where she's forced to face the people she's spent the last ten years trying to avoid.

I took a chance and bought this book as one of the Daily Deals, and am so pleased that I did! It was a fantastic listen for me . I now have a new author to choose books from and see if her others are as good too. So happy I stepped out of my "box" and tried the Daily Deal.

Every married couple knows you don't go to bed angry. The corollary, Cork O'Connor realizes, is that you also don't say goodbye when you're mad. When the charter plane Jo O'Connor is on crashes over the mountains in Wyoming in an early winter storm, Cork deeply regrets the heated argument he had with his wife just before she left. An intense search is launched, but bad weather and the steep terrain hinder the efforts and soon the search is abandoned.

Would you listen to Heaven's Keep again? Why?

definitely will listen to this one again as well! Keeps you always wondering!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Cork O'Connor is a great character and I want to listen to all his series!

Have you listened to any of Buck Schirner’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Have not ever and was not real excited about him as narrator at beginning after listening to "Iron Lake", but found that he was also very good to hear.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Could hardly stop listening and definitely could not wait to get back to the story.

Any additional comments?

Already wondering which one of the series will be next in my Must Have list.
