Great story from start to finish. Narration was spot on. Zackary and Teri nailed it. Loved every word.

Well, it’s too bad. I really liked Reaver and rooted for him and Harvester. But the world building fell apart for me in this one. I still enjoyed, but the plot holes were many. Some where explained by the end, others not. But it took away from my enjoyment.

The one that was explained related to Reaver. But Harvester, not so much.

If Harvester was a product of two angels, her father having not fallen at this point, how could she have Satanic DNA??? That was the reasoning for her evil changes. But the point kept being made that Satan was not Satan when she was conceived. So why did she have horns and such. If it was said that she got those from her evil doings, fine. But no, evil DNA she couldn’t have was the excuse. Which is impossible. Besides that we never truly find out if what Satan said about her mother was true. Her story is over, I expected an answer.

And the mystery behind Reaver and his past was finally explained but convoluted.

Overall, a disappointment but still a good read. I love this series and will rec it all day and night. Just not my favorite installment.

The narrator was okay, but she ruined my beloved Eidolon who should be super sexy. Instead he sounded like a female weasel. Ugh. And Ares was all of a sudden Hispanic???? IDK. If this narrator continues, I may not be able to.

Disappointing

This unique world held so much promise. I think the carrot the author dangles at the promise of romance detracts from the story seeing as she didn't deliver (if this is truly the last in the series at least of Meg's world). I like some romance in my stories but don't need it. I think I would have enjoyed the story without it in this case. The last paragraph what we get wasn't worth the wait of five books and I feel cheated.Plus, nothing much happens in this installment. The villain was awful but not scary, not like previous villains. Meg gets very little page time considering this is her "story/series ARC". And there is 5% action, 0.01% romance, and the rest of the book reads as filler. I probably won't read the spinoff.

Wow, this book blew my breath away. It had everything I wanted in a book. I’m confused about which series of David’s I love more. The Dwellers or this one. I will say as much as I love Adele and Tristan (and their circumstances were quite different), I love the relationship between Sienna and Circ. It was just, amazing.

The story had me on an emotional runaway train. There were highs and lows and everything in between. Siena was a strong character which much to lose and little to gain, yet she did what needed to be done when needed. She’s the kind of character I admire. And it’s been a long time since I felt this way. (Rose from Vampire Academy the only other one).

There are many lessons to learn and several characters to love and an equal number to hate. It will be interesting to see where this series goes. I absolutely can’t wait.
Overall, FANTASTIC!

My book boyfriend Circ.

The narration was fantastic. I've listened to this narrators as Jane in the Jane Yellowrock series as well as another urban fantasy series. So it took a moment to hear those voices and not associate them with the other characters.

What made the experience of listening to Shadow Study the most enjoyable?

The narration and story were good.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Valek, but really all the characters are well written.

Which character – as performed by Gabra Zackman – was your favorite?

Valek

Any additional comments?

Minor spoilers - I will try to keep the spoilers to a minimum. I knew what the problem was with the missing magic from the beginning. And I waited and waited and waited for the reveal. I just wanted the reaction to the news only to be disappointed as the "semi-revealed" comes at the very end. And I didn't get the reaction that I was looking for. And now I have to wait a whole year before I get satisfaction. Only some authors don't start the book where it ends. My luck, I won't get the information about the reaction that I'm looking for. So I'm kind of pissed right now.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Kalen, his character lived up to how he was written from page one.

What does Jessica Geffen bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Jessica Geffen did such an amazing job with this book. She truly brought these characters to life. Her voices were distinct and I had no trouble following each of the characters even if I was multi-tasking. I really loved her voice for Kalen. She made the voice match the words the author wrote for him. I definitely will listen to another book she narrates. She added to as much enjoyment of the books as the words themselves. Awesome job!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes.
