A successful LA artist, Roman Velasco appears to have everything he could possibly want - money, women, fame. Only Grace Moore, his reluctant, newly hired personal assistant, knows how little he truly has. The demons of Roman's past seem to echo through the halls of his empty mansion and out across his breathtaking Topanga Canyon view. But Grace doesn't know how her boss secretly wrestles with those demons: by tagging buildings as the Bird, a notorious but unidentified graffiti artist - an alter ego that could destroy his career and land him in prison.

Nothing in the overview indicated that this would actually be a Christian romance book. It was absolutely proselytizing. I don't mind books with religious content as part of the story line, but this was upside down. Personally, I do not recommend this unless you love watching Hallmark TV on a regular basis.

Instead of repeating what talking heads say, form your own opinion. You may agree with what he says, or think he's full of crap. It doesn't matter as long as you're willing to open your mind and listen for 9 hours. You may be surprised that only about 2 1/2 hours are really about Trump. There is more than the sound bites that you've heard.

When an intricate old map is found stuffed into the walls of the bistro in Three Pines, it at first seems no more than a curiosity. But the closer the villagers look, the stranger it becomes. Given to Armand Gamache as a gift the first day of his new job, the map eventually leads him to shattering secrets. To an old friend and older adversary. It leads the former Chief of Homicide for the Sûreté du Québec to places even he is afraid to go. But must. And there he finds four young cadets in the Sûreté academy, and a dead professor. And, with the body, a copy of the old, odd map.

In 1906 I was barely over 14 years old, and it was my wedding day. My older sister, Helen, came to my room, took me by the hand, and sat me down on the bed. She said, "You've always been a good girl, Maude, and done what I told you. Now you're going to be a married woman, and he will be the head of the house. When you go home tonight after your party, no matter what he wants to do to you, you have to let him do it. Do you understand?"

The narrator's voice took away from the story. At times she had a New England or New York accent. It wasn't until later in the story I caught Maude and her family were from Tennessee and later moved to south east Missouri. Other times the narrator's voice was droll. Many times the voice tone in no way reflected the text.
