Seven years ago the Atargatis set off on a voyage to the Mariana Trench to film a mockumentary bringing to life ancient sea creatures of legend. It was lost at sea with all hands. Some have called it a hoax; others have called it a tragedy. Now a new crew has been assembled. But this time they're not out to entertain. Some seek to validate their life's work. Some seek the greatest hunt of all. Some seek the truth. But for the ambitious young scientist Victoria Stewart, this is a voyage to uncover the fate of the sister she lost.

Enjoyed this book very much. Have to say though, that this goes down in history as the worst attempt at an Aussie accent ever!!! No hyperbole in that statement!!

Magician is an epic story with great characters and intriguing plot. Such a shame the narration is so poor. Narrator does not read with context in mind; does emotion poorly; makes teenagers sound like 70 year olds and learned men sound like farmers (though his accents are pretty good). Mistakes have not been corrected and the narrator's constant wet phlegmy voice is awful. If you can look past the dismal narration, it really is an excellent book.

Ox was 23 when murder came to town and tore a hole in his head and heart. The boy chased after the monster with revenge in his blood red eyes, leaving Ox behind to pick up the pieces. It's been three years since that fateful day and the boy is back. Except now he's a man, and Ox can no longer ignore the song that howls between them.

What would have made Wolfsong better?

More emphasis on an interesting, robust story. Should have stated it was a gay romance book.

What could TJ Klune have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Improved the immature bickering between gay characters. So cliched.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Lots of mispronounced words.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Dull, boring and irrelevant to this reader.

Any additional comments?

As a hetro female I have ZERO interest in a gay romance. The rest of the story is just a poor structure to promote a gay romance. So dull.

Born with the power to control minds, hypnotize others, and read thoughts, Ren Lewis is certain of one thing: God made a mistake. No one should be born with so much power. A monster awoke in him the same year he received his gifts. At 10 years old. A prepubescent boy with the ability to control others might merely abuse his powers, but Ren allowed it to corrupt him. And since he can have and do anything he wants, Ren should be happy.

An immature attempt at writing with so many mistakes and contradictions that I wonder if it was ever actually edited. DON'T get this for your teenage daughters. Don't read it yourself!!! Worse than the bad writing, is the promotion of the main character who is a serial rapist. Yes - if you use your 'mind powers' to make women sleep with you... that is rape. I worry that so many of the previous reviews are dismissive or minimize the main characters use and abuse of all around him. When did we become so accepting of this behavior? A TRULY TRASH NOVEL!
