To survive in a game with no rules at all, John Corey must invent a strategy that includes no luck at all. He and the Anti-Terrorist Task Force must stop "The Lion," an alleged Libyan terrorist with the instincts of a wild animal, the bloodlust of a carnivore, and the boldness and speed of a cat of prey.

Did we all hear the same book?

I'm shocked that this book gets good reviews. I bought it thinking at worst it would just be some nice brain candy to pass the time. But it's not even that. Even the main characters are just stock characters. The relationships are shallow and not believable. The "twists" are completely predictable. I like spy novels and thrillers, but this book was far from a "thriller." This book was simply long winded and boring. I think the narrator does a great job with the material at hand, but the book is just dull. Clancy books are much much better.

Rufus Moffat, a very lively and creative boy, stars in this charming tale set in the 1910s. Rufus is seven and he has two older sisters and one older brother. Rufus has many adventures. During one adventure he gets a library card all by himself, even before he can read! Other days, Rufus plays baseball with his sister. Rufus loves baseball, but he also hopes the team will take lots of breaks for cookies and punch.

My 5 and 7 year old sons LOVE this book. The story touches on so many things near and dear to children that you don't even notice that it was set during the WWII era. My wife and I found our selves chuckling and rooting for Rufus right along with our kids. Perfect for long rides in the car!

For a frame of reference- we also loved the Stuart Little reading narrated Julie Harris.

This charming little tale, with a gigantic heart, was written by E.B. White, best-known for the perennial favorite Charlotte's Web.

Julie Harris does a fantastic narration. This is a favorite for our whole family on long car trips. Our kids like listening to this story better than watching DVDs! Highly recommended.
