I knew the moment Katy Swartz moved in next door there was going to be trouble. Lots of it. And trouble's the last thing I need, since I'm not exactly from around here. My people arrived on Earth from Lux, a planet 13 billion light-years away. Plus, if there's one thing I know, it's that humans can't be trusted. We scare them. We can do things they only dream about, and honestly, we make them look weak as hell. Cuz they are.

Though forced to fight for the hated British, Morgan MacKinnon would no more betray the men he leads than slit his own throat - not even when he was captured by the French and threatened with an agonizing death by fire at the hands of their Abenaki allies. Only the look of innocent longing in the eyes of a convent-bred French lass could make him question his vow to escape and return to the Rangers. And soon the sweet passion he awoke in Amalie had him cursing the war that forced him to choose between upholding his honor and pledging himself to the woman he loves.

I rate the first and second book 3.5. There is really no real chemistry between the hero & heroine for me. The story is interesting but not a huge page turner. Maybe I’m jaded from all the great historical fiction I have read. I suggest it as part of the romance pkg but not if you need to use a credit.

I waited several months after finishing Colton & Riley’s story. Bad move. This book is extra scenes and doesn’t move smoothly as books usually do. I felt kind of lost at times because the sequence of events were not fresh in my mind. I would have enjoyed more immediately after trading the series.

The story was really engaging but I gave it 4 stars for a few Cheesy lines and a few repeated phrases that should be edited out. (I read a lot so I’m being picky)
If you like steamy vampire stories with a good plot and can ignore a few cheesy lines, give this one a chance. I recommend it and will be reading the next in the series.

Touring with four rockers is the thing of dreams - at least that is what people tell me. To me, those four rockers are my family. They have watched over me from the time I was five years old, protecting me from my mother and her drunken, drug-addicted rages. When they made it big, they still watched over me. And when my monster of a mother died, they took over as my guardians.

I have read several Black Dagger Brotherhood books & thought the chemistry was better in others. I concede that this one was on sale so I skipped several and was kind of lost for 1/3 of the book. (I would Not suggest skipping as they build on each other) This story skipped around from subplot to subplot so I was trying to remember who everyone was. It was confusing and maybe I would have enjoyed the book better in order?

I read a lot of books. This was good but not great. The characters go through lots of emotional growth but about 2/3 of the way through the book I was ready to move the plot along. All the added background info at that point lagged and stalled the story. I ended up speeding up the narration to get through some of the unneeded scenes to get to the meat of the story. Still a lot to love. Solid 4 but not 5.

Why Mummy Drinks is the brilliant novel from Gill Sims, the author of the online sensation Peter and Jane. It is Mummy's 39th birthday. She is staring down the barrel of a future of people asking if she wants to come to their advanced yoga classes, and polite book clubs where everyone claims to be tiddly after a glass of Pinot Grigio and says things like 'Oooh gosh, are you having another glass?'
