Under the direction of famed explorer Porter Stone, an archaeological team is secretly attempting to locate the tomb of an ancient pharaoh who was unlike any other in history. Stone believes he has found the burial chamber of King Narmer, the near mythical god-king who united upper and lower Egypt in 3200 B.C., and the archaeologist has reason to believe that the greatest prize of all - Narmer's crown - might be buried with him. No crown of an Egyptian king has ever been discovered, and Narmer's is the elusive crown of the two Egypts.

I'm a big fan of Preston-Child & jump on these as soon as they are published. This is the first book of Lincoln Child's that I've read, and I'm ready to get all the others! I'm loving it. This is a "can't wait to listen" book, and if I could, I'd finish it all at once--oh, for a long holiday weekend! Wish it were more of an epic than a fast read, but maybe that's part of the appeal. It's quickly paced.

Yoga's popularity is soaring, but its widespread acceptance as an exercise for physical fitness and the recognition of its health benefits have not been matched by an understanding of the emotional, intellectual, and spiritual development that the yogic tradition can also offer. In Light on Life, B.K.S. Iyengar explains this new and more complete understanding of the yogic journey.

This is a yoga and spiritual classic . . . lovingly narrated by a western yogini, Patricia Walden. Wish it were available in the original, non-abridged version, though. It is too good to abridge, which is an insult to the author. I only got this one because it was all that was available; abridged was better than nothing. Personally, I would love to see more Audible inventory in this and similar genres. These types of books are deserving of serious study and engagement, and they go far beyond just an "entertaining" read. More like this please, Audible!!!

History has all but forgotten.... In the spring of 1708, an invading Jacobite fleet of French and Scottish soldiers nearly succeeded in landing the exiled James Stewart in Scotland to reclaim his crown. Now, Carrie McClelland hopes to turn that story into her next best-selling novel. Settling herself in the shadow of Slains Castle, she creates a heroine named for one of her own ancestors and starts to write. But then she discovers her novel is more fact than fiction....

This is one of those rather rare books that you know you will feel sad when it is ends . . . I have not finished it yet and am already missing the characters/friends who are so real that the setting just wrap around you and enfolds you in cozy warmth or wintry sea air. Beautifully and sensitively written . . . don't miss it. It's a story within a story and very thought-provoking as to the origins of the creative process. Very sweet and wonderfully narrated audiobook. Rosalyn Landor does a fabulous job creating the characters and moods. I can hardly put it down. I wish I could listen non-stop -- very engaging story(s). Some mighty strong and attractive male characters here and brainy women.
