Zachary Quinto - best known for his role as the Nimoy-approved Spock in the recent Star Trek reboot and the menacing, power-stealing serial killer, Sylar, in Heroes - brings his well-earned sci-fi credentials and simmering intensity to this audio-exclusive novella from master storyteller John Scalzi. One day, not long from now, it becomes almost impossible to murder anyone - 999 times out of a thousand, anyone who is intentionally killed comes back. How? We don't know.

One of the comedy world's fastest-rising stars tells his wild coming of age story during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa and the tumultuous days of freedom that followed. Noah provides something deeper than traditional memoirists: powerfully funny observations about how farcical political and social systems play out in our lives.

Although is really enjoyed some of the individual stories, they were more stories that would be told to friends while drinking or sitting around the campfire. There was little coherence between the stories and the overall theme of the book was lost. there is a book here -- probably more than one, but the editor did not do a great job of teasing it out of Trevor Noah. I thought I was going to be reading about how Apartheid effects individuals, but that completely went away after part one.

The story was well done and the main performers were great. The editing was a little cheesy and some of the minor characters were over-the-top. I laughed at times when I was supposed to be shocked because of the over acting. It was also a little weird at times because there were no sound effects at times when what they were doing was important. that said, I was hooked early on and interested all the way through.

Sometimes in medicine the only way to know what is truly going on in a patient is to operate, to look inside with one's own eyes. This book is exploratory surgery on medicine itself, laying bare a science not in its idealized form but as it actually is - complicated, perplexing, and profoundly human.
