You know what it’s like to be in pain, to be alone. All those emotions and feelings can be so overwhelming and exhausting. You may often be prone to insecurity, self-pity, feeling tired and confused. Like you are falling in a state of chaos and fear. You feel and absorb not only other people’s emotions, but their physical symptoms, their pain. While talking to others or in a group, while thinking about life, you experience anxiousness, panic attacks, depression… But don’t worry, there’s a name for it - you are an empath: highly sensitive and intuitive.

Whether it's a college project or an adult responsibility, you just feel like it is impossible to be done NOW...and you believe that you can do it tomorrow. You know you have the energy to work on something, but when you are seated and about to start, there is nothing that inspires you to do the job. You see, procrastination is a bad habit that prolongs the time you spend doing a certain task. You may even make the costly mistake of ignoring the problem then making yourself believe that it will solve itself through time.

I received this audiobook in return for an honest review.

This book was very straight forward. It's filled with common knowledge, which is fine when you're looking for a simple reminder of why you procrastinate, but I would've loved a really inspiring gem of information to make the listen worthwhile. I guess I was hoping for a little more depth to motivate me to start kicking the habit, not an actual retelling of why I'm prone to procrastinating.

But all in all, it's an okay listen and would've been better with a higher quality of audio.

The Science of Getting Rich is a book written by the New Thought Movement writer Wallace D. Wattles and published in 1910. It was a major inspiration for Rhonda Byrne's best-selling book and film The Secret (2006). According to USA Today, the text is "divided into 17 short, straight-to-the-point chapters that explain how to overcome mental barriers, and how creation, rather than competition, is the hidden key to wealth attraction." The Science of Getting Rich preceded similar financial success books such as The Master Key System by Charles F. Haanel (1912) and Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill (1937). In the 100 years since its publication, it has gone through many editions, and remains popular.

I was given this book to listen to in exchange for a free copy...and unfortunately, it wasn't a great fit for me.
I'm a big believer in 'The Secret'. I've practiced its teachings for eight months and seen a vast improvement in my life already. And although this is along the same lines, incorporating the law of attraction, I didn't appreciate the religious aspects to it.
There is a lot of talk about God and Jesus. Well, maybe not 'a lot' but for someone who isn't a fan of organized religion, it isn't something I wanted to listen to and wouldn't have signed up to review if I'd been aware in the first place.

Religion aside, this is an okay listen. But I've found other books that discuss manifestation to be far better.

Sit or lay in a comfortable, quiet place. Breathe in through your nose and fill your diaphragm with oxygen. Relax your nostrils. Relax your throat and tongue. Allow the air to flow freely into your abdomen. Look down at your belly and watch it fill and empty. With awareness, choose to breathe through your belly, rather than up into your chest and shoulders. Close your eyes and continue breathing in and out for at least 10 breaths. Don't hurry or slow your breath. Quiet your mind and just breathe at a comfortable pace.

Learning how to meditate has been on my to-do list for a while. I'm still in need of doing some thorough research but I took the opportunity to listen to a review copy of this meditation to see how I'd go.

I found Melissa's voice soothing and easy to listen to. The only difficulty for me was connected with the script itself. I guess it wasn't anything like I expected.

Did it help me relax? Yes. And I think if I did more research before my first attempt at meditation I would've enjoyed it a lot more.

This is similar to the secret and although the concepts are the same, it's great to have it spoken in a fresh voice.
At the start, the book irked me. I can't remember why, all I can recall is wanting to put it down with no plan to pick it up again. But by the end I was in love and have since forced this book down the throats of two friends.
Definitely worth the read/listen.

I guess it's because my stories don't come to me in the breeze. I found that belittling.
I create my stories. I mould and sculpt and perfect them.
I also didn't feel motivated by this at all. In fact, I feel the opposite. For me, it might have been beneficial to me when I was first starting in my career. But I struggled through ever part of this audio book.

I absolutely loved listening to this audio book. For the most part, it was the beautifully woven words. So beautiful.
The only downfall was in Sebastian's parts. I could clearly here the cut and paste of his edits. I haven't listened to a whole heap of audio. Probably only 20 or so, but I've never heard bad editing before. I would never have expected that from such a popular narrator. His acting was great. Editing...not so much.
But still, even with the cut and paste issues, I absolutely adored this book. So damn good.

I met the president's son when we were both young. Matthew Hamilton was handsome, polished, and intelligent. I'd never met a guy like him. He promised me that he'd never run for president. I promised that if he did, I'd be by his side. Two terms later, an invitation to join Matthew Hamilton's campaign is the most exhilarating opportunity I've ever experienced. I'm determined to make a difference; he is determined to win.
