I actually liked this book... being a huge animal lover, every time Chet would do something that was so typical "doggy" I just had to smile! If you are a dog lover, you will enjoy this book. It's not the best story, but unique!

Was it all the narrator or was it part author???

Overall

First of ...the narrator is probably one of the worst I have listened to. The dialogue between characters was very versed and I was not sure if it was the way it was read or written, needless to say, I had to work in order to make it through this book. The story line was okay, I think that it had potential but if the rest of the series has this narrator, I will pass.

I am at a loss for words.. I have read in order every Connelly book - including the other series with guest appearances in Bosch's series and this book left me hanging. I was busy scanning photos as i was listening to it and all of a sudden I heard ' - we hope you enjoyed....-' I actually backed up the story to make sure I didn't miss anything. It was as though he had to finish this at a particular time and couldn't write another word after that second passed. I felt the story was not concluded New narrator...not my favorite..but I have heard worse.

I have watched Bob Harper on the Biggest Loser and always thought his approach was always a bit "soft" for me but decided to purchase this audiobook anyway. I am glad I did. I listened to the first part, taking notes on an old envelope as I drove down the road (not safe... I know!!) Decided that I would purchase the Kindle version for reference.
I am taking each of the recommended steps one at a time and working through them.

This is the first in the series written by Rennison - and do not expect there will be any deep subject matter! If you were ever a teenage girl...you will relate to many of the entries that Georgia makes in her diary. I thoroughly enjoyed this book as a get away from more serious or sober subject matter.

John Ceepak, a former MP just back from Iraq, has just joined the Sea Haven police department. The job offer came from an old Army buddy who hoped to give Ceepak at least a summer's worth of rest and relaxation to help him forget the horrors of war. The Republicans are coming to St. Paul for their convention. Throwing a big party is supposed to be fun, but crashing the party are a few hard cases the police would rather have stayed away. Chief among them is a crew of professional stick-up men who've spotted several lucrative opportunities, ranging from political moneymen with briefcases full of cash to that armored-car warehouse with the weakness in its security system.

I am a little more than 45 min into this audible book and I am having trouble staying focused. I read the reviews and many love this narrator. I think the book would be more tolerable, should the narrator be one with a clearer voice. I find that his voice is hard to listen to. Sanford had introduced so many characters within the first 15 min of the book that it is hard to keep track of them. His writing style inserts a lot of "_____ said"... "______ said" and "______ asked" that it really breaks up the conversation between the two characters. So far neither of the two story lines have captured me and with almost an hour into the book, I would think at least of one of them makes me want to know more. Unfortunately, I think I will remove this one from my iphone and move on to my next book.

I have loved every single one of the Sookie Stackhouse series... until this one. I felt like the narrator was even bored. In the other series she talked with enthusiasm - but this one she was more monotone. It seemed that about every 5 minutes Sookie was rehashing something that happened in a previous book. It was so bad that she was rehashing events that had happened in this book. It felt like Ms. Harris didn't have anything new for Sookie to experience so she had to take up space on the page with history.
