Avery Nolan promised six-year-old Bay one thing - she’d bring his father home to him. That, however, was harder to accomplish than she’d thought. When Bay is abducted by his grandfather and taken to the Greensward, Avery now has two people depending on her, but she’s unable to find a way into the illusive land and no one seems able to help. Until a visit to her mother provides her with a cryptic message, “Find the rainbow people.” Avery has no idea what this means, but ICE agent Graham Braddock does and he thinks he may have found a portal into the Greensward.

This is a great series that keeps you listening. Each book manages to take Avery in a whole new direction with a whole new set of obstacles. Her whole life is turned upside down in Book 2 and she is almost helpless to restore it to balance until an old friend reappears. Then a brand new attack must be made in order to save the people she loves. It's interesting to consider - and isn't that what adventures are about - an ordinary woman in extraordinary circumstances. I find myself wondering if I would react that way, how I would feel. I really like this is not a mindless shoot em up but at the same time I can give over and just enjoy the story and the in's and out's without working too hard. Looking forward to Number 4. I really appreciate the books are releasing quickly.

Avery Nolan is an extremely likeable character. You start pulling for her right away. She wants "something more." Sound familiar? In fact the whole scenario of starting to teach at the new school, in the new town, new community, new environment, is really magical and real... who wouldn't want to start over in a completely new world and yet not be at least a little afraid that you might not fit in or it might not work out. For simple everyday people, the characters of this community are really fun and mostly funny. There is a lot of romance in this fantasy. I love the dog who plays a major role. This story provides a real 'escape' experience - I got immediately involved and am looking forward to the rest of the story.

She told me Heaven would knock on my door one day. That I would be swept away from the hell I lived in. She was right about one thing and so wrong about the other. Heaven came in the form of an angel just like she said. And then. My life became hell. She disappeared. Vanished. I left. Went to war. Killed. All for her. Every face was the man who took her. Every dream filled with her. For 12 years, I existed in hell. Breathed in the fires from down below. Until her, the woman on the beach outside of my home.

Kathy Coopmans has a really unique writing style. The entire story seems to come from with in the characters and each chapter comes from one character in particular - their thoughts and feelings. This romance is very bold - the story almost death-defying. But very very contemporary. This is not your typical soft romance and that's what I enjoyed about it. Some scenes are adult in nature. I look forward to more of Kathy Coopmans work. Solid and meaningful narration.

Recurring nightmares haunted D'laine Jackson when she woke from an eight-month coma following a tragic accident. Four images were branded in her head: a dark-haired, handsome princely young man, a fierce reptilian monster, a white furry creature whose red eyes implored her with some unspoken message, and an ominous black robot. Now, five years later, D'laine was getting ready to go off to college. During one last shopping trip with her father and brothers for dorm supplies, a blanket of fog rolled out of the sky at the mall, in broad daylight in plain sight of dozens of witnesses. When the fog pulled back D'laine was gone. When she woke, her nightmare turned into reality.

I really look forward to where this series is going. D'laine Jackson finds her self catapulted into a new land - one that she remember from her nightmares that are also haunted by her dead mother. We discover this new world with her as she discovers her rightful place in it. I loved all the new creatures, the way the place looks the way things work. I thought the author did a great job in giving us something new. We jump back and forth back to earth where they are looking for D'laine. The guys that are a part of the science team are funny and also very smart. I loved the way the author threaded between these two worlds. There's war, romance, philosophy and suspense. Great work!

What a fun, light, refreshing series this is! You do not need to listen to DIY Book 1 to enjoy Book 2, even though they are linked. Jack is producing Daniel's DIY show in Savannah. He needs this job. Marly, a single mom and ex-beauty queen, is cast as Daniel's sidekick on the show. Marly needs this job. They both have their own baggage, their own skeletons. Sparks fly as initially they butt heads, but the route they take to come together is really fun. I was pulling for them. The daughter is a smile and a great foil. A loved the inside look at the audition and casting. I liked the frequent traveling/change of location and the hidden mystery, the bit of suspense. The characters are specific and well defined. You care about them. The narration is solid. The story intrigues and kept me listening. I loved it.

This series has all the components and this fourth book does not disappoint. Peyton and the Ghost Squad travel to LA undercover to investigate a murder. It's great dark fun the way the team takes on their various roles in the entertainment world to catch the villain. This is a creepy, eerie crime. And the back and forth from the victim alive then switching to the team trying to find her killer is really spell binding and also sad. As you see this person who you think is a stereotype become a real human being before your eyes. I was really touched a couple of times during the book. The author is taking us into real human depths and darknesses. I believe these characters, I care about them, I feel for them and I want to know what is going to happen next to them.

Lots of family involvement here, including a wonderful turn from the Mother-In-Law. Good to see the return of the perfect neighbor. Real moments of caring with Deena's husband. And the humor just gets funnier and funnier. This is one crazy town!

Rendaz - Earth. Earth- Rendaz - maybe we should be doing things differently. I love all the animals - its all animals. It's long book. I usually listen to much shorter books but I loved the cover and it made me buy it. And I'm really glad. It made me happy.
