Jackson "The Beast" Boudreaux is rich, gorgeous, and unbelievably rude to the staff at Chef Bianca Hardwick's New Orleans restaurant. Bianca would sooner douse herself in hot sauce than cook for Jackson again, but when he asks her to cater his fundraiser, Bianca can't refuse, knowing the cash will help pay her mother's medical bills. Then Jackson makes another outrageous request: Marry me. The unconventional offer includes an enormous sum - money Bianca desperately needs, even if it does come with a contract - and a stunning ring.

In this straightforward handbook, he gives you the tools and advice you need to demolish the slag weighing you down and become the truly unf*cked version of yourself. "Wake up to the miracle you are," he directs. "Here's what you've forgotten: You're a f*cking miracle of being." It isn't other people that are standing in your way; it isn't even your circumstances that are blocking your ability to thrive. It's yourself and the negative self-talk you keep telling yourself.

I am shockingly impressed by this book. I am actually not a fan of most self help type books but nabbed this during a buy one get one free sale. This was everything I needed to hear and more. The author doesn’t sugar coat things for you and reassure you that “you deserve everything” and “you’re doing your best”..... instead he helps you realize why you’re not doing your best and why you don’t “deserve” a thing.

I highly recommend for anyone that struggles with self doubt. I am my own worst critic and this book spoke to me so much!!

First off, I’ll start by saying Julia Whelan is a phenomenal narrator. Everything about the narration was perfect.

Admittedly, it took me longer than expected to finish this book. It didn’t leave me on the edge of me toes waiting to see what happened next. It was almost too good to be true and everything happened so easily at first. So without spoiling it for new readers/listeners I’ll just say KEEP going!!! Once the story line turned I finished it in one night.

I caught myself laughing out and then crying minutes later. The emotional depth it goes into at the end left me shaken. I am still sniffling as I write this review. Such a rare gem in a romance book now a days!

I love when I come across an author I’ve never heard of that I can thoroughly enjoy. I had no idea what to expect, it popped up in my recommended books. This had a great story line with likable characters. Also had great narration! Sometimes books from this time period have awful boring narration, this one did not.

I wasn’t really sure what to expect when I got this book but it had rave reviews. It was pretty intense and real. I like that it was the nitty gritty of life, and knowing it’s a true story makes it that much better. I felt that ever reaction was genuine and authentic which is sometimes hard to find in romance books that are all sugar coated to be perfect. I love when a book can make you love the villain of the book, which in this case was the main character being her own downfall. Lots of sex, but wasn’t surprised it is about an affair after all! Definitely worth the listen though.

The books are the perfect length and so far have been ending in good spots that make sense in the story line. I love the realness of the emotions and even though this is clearly a young adult type book, I don’t find it childish at all like I find in many others. Can’t wait for the next one!
