The last thing FBI agent Will Brody remembers is the explosion - a thousand shards of glass surfing a lethal shock wave. He wakes without a scratch. The building is in ruins. His team is gone. Outside, Chicago is dark. Cars lie abandoned. No planes cross the sky. He's relieved to spot other people - until he sees they're carrying machetes.

This was an interesting premise, and seems set up to have a sequel, which I definitely buy!!

The hardest part for me was the narration. The reader did a great job, and was wonderful at droping her English accent and using an American accent where necessary.

The hiccup was using the British pronunciation, while using the American accent! (You would think the director or producer would have caught this.) Best example is the word "Quantico", as in 'the city in Virginia where FBI Agents are trained'. It was pronounced "Quan-TEEE-co". It popped the fantasy bubble, and pulled me out of the moment. There were three or four other moments. Made me wonder if the director/producer we also English, and it didn't know better.

Context about me: I can be a little picky and slightly OCD. Additionally, in love hearing accents done well. So I might be overly sensitive about this. (At least I admit it.)

Otherwise, give this a shot. There was A LOT to love about it.

Serenity Found takes the contents of Finding Serenity even further, exploring not just the show but the events of the film as well, to create an anthology that's even more thought-provoking, fascinating, and far-thinking than its predecessor.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I was hoping for stories set IN the Firefly universe. This book is stories about how the (absolutely FANTASTIC) TV show being made influenced people's REAL lives. While interesting, it wasn't what I was expecting and was disappointed. (I was also disappointed by the fact that Nathan Fillion didn't read his own piece, but glad he is so busy we get to see him other places.)
