The story was good with good twists and well written. The narrator was good in performance, with the exception....of pauses....that seemed to seemed to come at unnatural times. It was as if she was reading the novel....for the first time, and she paused at the end of a line to shift her eyes....to the next line.

Of course Tim Gerard Reynolds did an outstanding job, but Holy cr.. the author had to be high when she wrote this. I have been a cop for 30 years in a large city and I sure see things differently. I really tried to keep listening with an open mind, but I couldn’t take it anymore.

This book is full of trying to get the listener to buy into emotional conclusions by telling bits of certain stories. I guess the author talked to Cleo at the psychic hotline to tell us what a guy, who has been dead for thirty years, was actually thinking in the 1920s.

From a guy who has been victimized by drug users including being shot by one, to quote Fes from that 70s show, I say good day to your views on prohibition.....I said good day!

Don’t waste your time on this book.

Performance was hard to listen to although he tried. Story was just not that good. The premise was a good idea but was not well done.

The murder/Manatt story could be a book on its own. It made it way too busy to add the apocalyptic aspect. The book was realistic, but the action was full of unrealistic dramatic pauses. In fact the cheesy climactic scene made me turn the book off and not even listen to the last 30 minutes.

Great story about a truly great person. The author did a great job showing all sides of this colorful character. The narrator did a good job but was a little hard to hear at times.

There was a lot of great parts to this book. Great writing technique. Great character development. But, overall for some reason, the story just didn't do it for me. It seemed to drag a little here and there. The performance by the narrator was second to none.
