Just a quick note, on a device not intended for writing. If you would like more context, and/or a deeper plunge into the Dune Universe... It starts here. Dune, the original novel, is a classic. In Science Fiction it could easily be stacked up against any of the greats. I don't believe you lose anything in reading this, and I am of to the 3rd book ( :

The first of a two-part series. This wonderfully bridges the gap betwixt what we know of Ani & Kenobi. A smattering of the animated series characters can be found. Primarily though, this unabridged work gives you some of the chosen one and his; master partner & friend.

I don't do many young adult books. My first movie theater, movie, was a New Hope... To approximate my years. Disney has ever been about princesses... Hopeful that my favorite one would some day be recognized... I was glad to come accross this story...
More than filler, this is an origin story. The emergence of a princess. A planet and its people comprising perhaps our 'better angles'. Worth the time to check this out.
-Side note on narration-
It's uncomfortable, albeit possibly unavoidable, to have a younger woman do adult male voices. While our narrator of this work was a great fit for a young Leia... Poor Moff Tarkin & Bale Organa. Good thing there was no attempt at a Vader Voice. All & all Excellent!

Between the fantastic Thrawn Trilogy and Fate of the Jedi are dozens of stories. Most here at Audible are abridged beyond recognition. This broad and sweeping story is both epic & vital to the Star Wars Universe. Should you find yourself having a hoard of unused credits try the Vong Wars and a few others of note. A website called Yoda's Note Pad will provide you with a chronological order of novels. A great reference to determine what books to add to your library and which you may want to find AT your local library.

Credit where credit is due. After bumbling through the abridged to death series preceding this novel... I am delighted with everything about Outcast. There is action and adventure to be sure. But the small snippets of comic relief were wonderful. And a more personal father & son relationship between Luke and Ben was simply fantastic. Good story, well narrated, production & music give a true Star Wars feel. Thank you for leaving it intact.
