the two main characters made so many mistakes over and over that it was laughable. they were supposed to be experts yet they kept escaping certain death by sheer luck. in addition the author apparently thanks fat people only move in a waddle because he went out of his way to mention this about every obese character in the book.

the part of the story has been told in other books and movies with this one adding a more sordid twist. it took awhile for me to get into it because the protagonist did some stupid things that one would suppose a Texas Ranger would not do. for instance not immediately making a connection to the woman's clothing and some sort of religious connection. also when the other Texas Ranger made an insult referring to his grandchildren, I found it hard to believe that he wouldn't have retorted that he wasn't going to have any considering his have been killed

ugh.

the main character was a mess and totally unsympathetic, I found myself fast-forwarding through her chapters. honestly as a Survivor myself I found her stupid and pathetic and there is no way she would ever become an FBI agent. I must have fast-forwarded where Matthew figured into the whole scenario but I really don't give a s***

I'm not a big fan of zombie novels but the free preview kept me entertained and the narrator is good.
