Except that nothing is ever as perfect as it seems. As autumn nights close in around their home, they learn that darkness takes many forms. When she was 16 years old, Angela Wong - one of the most popular girls in school - disappeared without a trace. Nobody ever suspected that her best friend, Georgina Shaw, now an executive and rising star at her Seattle pharmaceutical company, was involved in any way. Certainly not Kaiser Brody, who was close with both girls back in high school. But 14 years later, Angela Wong's remains are discovered in the woods near Geo's childhood home.

Terrible! Shame on you James Patterson! I have been a fan for years, but I will likely never again waste my money or time on another one of your books. It was worse than a "B" rated movie. And don't get me started on the narrator and her over the top southern accent! The most positive thing I can say about this book, besides the fact that it's over, is at least audible will refund my credit!

In death, Didi Storm is finally getting the kind of publicity that eluded her in life. Twenty years ago, the ex-beauty queen worked the Vegas strip as a celebrity impersonator, too busy trying to make it big to spare much time for her daughter, Remmi. Shortly before she leaped from a San Francisco building, Didi's profile was rising again, thanks to a tell-all book. To Detective Dani Settler, it looks like a straightforward suicide, or perhaps a promotional stunt gone wrong. But Remmi knows the truth isn't so simple. Because though the broken body on the sidewalk is dressed in Didi's clothes and wig, it isn't Didi.

I enjoyed the majority of the book. I liked the characters and ws quickly drawn into the story. The narrator did an excellent job as well. It was almost like the writer got too caught up in the story and suddenly had to finish the book in the last 2 pages. Overall, I enjoyed it and would listen to another one from Lisa Jackson.
