This is a good second chance love story that takes place in the present and flashes back to 15 years earlier throughout the book. I actually enjoyed the flashbacks, it helped clarify why each person was feeling a certain way when we got to see what happened from their point of view. This was actually my first book from the Golden Beach series, so I will definitely need to go back and read the others. There were a lot of couples in the book that intrigued me, and I think if I would have read the others and gotten to know Carson (Sully) better from all the previous books then I would have loved him so much more.

Carson and Sloan were high school sweethearts, and their relationship and struggles seemed so realistic for that age. When Sloan’s family moved away they never spoke to each other again which broke both their hearts. All the hurt and misunderstandings are so typical for the first love and I could see it all happen, there were so many things that happened to keep them from reconnecting. Sloan inherits her grandfather’s house after he passed and she decides to move back thinking Carson no longer lived there. The two are constantly running into each other and the battle between lust and hurt always seems to occur. Even though the relationship between them took center stage there was plenty of side drama to keep me interested in everything that was happening. The only downfall was the constant back and forth for Sloan and Carson, I could only take each of them changing their minds so many times before it became too much.

Zachary Webber and Lacy Laurel do a wonderful job bringing the characters to life! This was actually my first time listening to Lacy Laurel but I was pleasantly surprised, she was able to portray all the different female characters and give them different voices. As always Zachary Webber was excellent, I will listen to anything he narrates!

Sleep, it was luxury I didn't have. I could hear it then, in the dark light of night, in the dusky morning; the click of the trigger, the smell of her blood, the sound of the rain. I never thought I would see her again. She was a ghost. She was dead. When Maggie Wright pushed her way into my life, she brought the phantom with her, and I was helpless to her pull. Everything I had, all of it, had been taken from me 10 years ago.

Wow, this book completely broke my heart at the very beginning! Ryan is a great guy who goes through a horrible experience and is just trying to survive with the consequences of his decision. He is ruled by his past but when he meets Maggie and Beth, he tries to find a way to finally have a future. Maggie is a strong single parent who figured love wasn't in the cards for her. Both have heart ache in their past, but they both try to heal because of each other.

I've always enjoyed Teddy Hamilton's narrations but he completely blew me away with this one. He brought Ryan's struggles and heartaches to life, it brought me to tears on multiple occasions. This was my first time listening to Vanessa Edwin but she didn't disappoint, her male voice was great (which is always the deciding factor for me).

I'm Matt Hadder. I've been called ruthless, savage - even brutal - by the men and women who work for me. And I've earned my reputation. Wonderland Inc., a party planning organization for every major player in the world, is Oz, and I'm its Wizard. I can make anything - drugs, prostitutes, deals - appear for a night and disappear just as quickly. This doesn't make me good or bad - it makes me essential. Wonderland Inc. was my life, until a beautiful contradiction of innocence and impurity, obedience and rebelliousness named Alex Little stepped in.

I love twisted fairytales! This book was entertaining all on its own, but the one-liners that brought back memories of Alice in Wonderland made it so much more enjoyable. The characters were great, Matt was a hot alpha bad boy and Alex was an independent woman who just moved to LA and was down on her luck but rolled with everything life threw her way. Their banter back and forth was great from the beginning and some of Alex’s experiences made me laugh out loud (Marge on the Hollywood tour)!

As always, Maxine Mitchell and Joe Arden are perfect together! Joe Arden does alpha bad boys like nobody’s business and Maxine Mitchell always makes the character seem so real! This bounced between a 3.5 and 4 star for me, the narration is what pushed it to the 4!

I dig. It's what I do. I'll literally use a shovel to answer a question. Some answers, though, have been buried too deep for too long. But I'll find those, too. And I know where to dig - the Blackwood Estate on the edge of the Mississippi Delta. Garrett Blackwood is the only thing standing between me and the truth. A broken man - one with desires that dance in the darkest part of my soul - he's either my savior or my enemy. I'll dig until I find all his secrets. Then I'll run so he never finds mine. The only problem? He likes it when I run.

I have been waiting to listen to this book since I first started this series last spring. This was a perfect ending to the series, the characters all went back to the place where all the drugs and violence started (the blood pit). Scarred Souls is definitely not a typical bad boy or alpha male romance. These stories are dark and intense, both the hero's and heroine's have have gone through dramatic experiences, they have been robbed of their freedom and humanity since a young age. They have fought, survived and are scarred.

Riot brought back the key males from the previous books as they travelled to rescue Valentine's sister. I honestly can't say which male was my absolute favorite, but Illian is right up there with all the others. Even though the story is focused on Illian and Anessa, I loved how they brought everyone together for the end and the connection they all formed from the experience was wonderful.

The narration for this was absolutely great! Amelie Griffin and Guy Locke did an amazing job of bringing the characters to life.... the accents were definitely icing on the cake!

Awkward? Maybe. But how else is a good girl going to find out if she likes being naughty? I might be sweet as cherry pie, but I'm also bold and damn curious. And Gabe is charming, trustworthy, aces at seduction (or so I hear) and - bonus! - willing to give me lessons. But to guarantee it won’t ruin our friendship, I have some specific requirements for his instruction. I want these classes to be hypothetical more than hands-on. So what if he’s hella sexy? I can handle that, no problem.

The new releases from Lauren Blakely this year have made me a huge fan. I am coming to realize that her books are so cute and funny they always put me in good, light mood when I need a break from the darker romances.

Arden might be one of my favorite characters with her love of books and ability to pick the perfect wine to go with the book! Even though Arden owns her own book store, has a great group of friends and can be friendly and outgoing with customers she still has a shy and insecure side when it comes to anything sexual. Gabe is a hot as heck fire fighter who strikes up a friendship with Arden when he witnesses her meltdown after a breakup. Gabe and Arden’s friendship is full of such easy lighthearted banter that I couldn’t help but root for those two to be together. Even without being full of sex, the chemistry and conversations (hello dirty talk) between Arden and Gabe make it HOT while he helps her explore her wants and desires.

The narration for Best Laid Plans was absolutely perfect. Both Erin Mallon and Joe Arden are my favorite narrators, I will listen to any book they narrate! Even though Erin has a sexy as heck male voice, Joe adds so much humor that I am so happy Lauren Blakely went with a duet narration!

This was a great historical romance that had some time travel thrown in. Historical romance definitely isn’t my go to but I have enjoyed Amy Harmon’s books before so I grabbed this one from the Amazon First selection (and WS it for audio) and I was not disappointed. The bulk of the story is from Anne’s point of view, but there are a lot of entries from Thomas’s journal. The story starts with Anne promising her dying grandfather that she will spread his ashes back in Ireland. Once Anne gets to Ireland she starts to realize that her Grandfather kept her entire family history a secret and she wants to finally learn more. When Anne goes to her grandfather’s childhood home, she takes a little boat out into the lough to release his ashes where fog surrounds her and she finds herself thrown back in time to 1921. There is so much going on in the story, between the battles in Ireland at the time and with Anne trying to not let it be known that she is an imposter, it makes for some intense and emotional moments. I was worried with how the story would end, but I absolutely loved the HEA ending!

Saskia Maarleveld and Will Damron did an amazing job bringing the story to life!

Being engaged to Alex Waters, team captain and the highest paid NHL player in the league, is awesome. How could it not be? In addition to being an amazing hockey player, he's an incurable romantic with an XL heart - and an XXL hockey stick in his pants. And he knows how to use it. Incredibly, orgasmically well. Alex is the whole package and more. Literally. Like his package is insane. Total world record holder material.

Alex and Violet have been my favorite since the series began (although Randy might be a close second). I laughed continuously through their first book and I was so happy to finally get more of their story. Forever Pucked is pretty much just a book about how Alex and Violet finally got married, sprinkled with Violet's oddball-ness and the typical oversharing that is alway inevitable when the female characters get together in the Pucked series!

I think I would have definitely enjoyed the book a lot more if I would have read it instead of listened. This was my first time listening to Emily C Michaels and while she did a good job narrating, I did think she was a good match for Violet. I was really partial to Muffy Newtowns narration of Violet in the first Pucked book. Jeremy York did an awesome job narrating for Alex, I enjoyed his narration a lot more than the first book.

I am excited to get to Charlene and Darren's story, so many things were hinted at in this book and I can't wait to find out more about their relationship!

I kept bouncing between a 3.5 and 4 star for this one.

The main characters, and even a lot of the side characters, were great! I will have to say that Shay was my favorite (who doesn't like a hot popular football player that is still sweet and nice). I loved how Kennedy was snarky and stand-offish with people she didn't know, it made for some entertaining reading. The way the characters dealt with a lot of the trauma in the book is what made me want to rate it higher. After reading some books earlier this month where characters did a lot of victim blaming (I'm looking at you Beartown), It was really nice to see that characters in this book stood behind the victims.

I’m surprised Rakes story is a second chance romance, but I guess it makes sense that he became a womanizer after he thinks his first love betrayed him. Bailey and Adam (Rake) were high school sweethearts until a horrible night when Rake thought she betrayed him, but in truth he destroyed her. Somehow, they both have lived in the same town but never ran into each other until one night at Rift when Bailey reconnects with Anna and Lana. When some biker drama happens, Bailey is sucked into their world just by her association with Rake.
I’m torn on this book, I want to really like it, but there were some parts that really annoyed me. There were some definite moments where Bailey’s decision making skills nearly made me want to throw my kindle. The best part might have to be the epilogue, I really want to hear about Rett and Cara when they are older!

Eva Christensen did an amazing job narrating. It was good to hear her voice Irish again, since his own story had a different narrator.
