They head out once more to a world where the threat comes from an altogether different foe, and in their darkest hour so far, the infection might just be their only ally as Marcy finally finds her role in the team. But will Howie accept it? Will it tear them apart? Will they do the right thing?

It was a little slow at points but made up for it ten fold. I like the new approach to the zombies in this book. There's so many zombie books now days, so it's great when they change the zombie up a bit. I think there's still a lot about the zombie that we haven't learned yet, & I look forward to reading about it in book two. Well, not read about it, but get it read to me before bed each night, before I get tucked in by mommy... Did I say that out loud? Oh shoot... please don't tell anyone?

And to tell u the truth, the ONLY reason I even got this second book & waisted my time on giving it a second chance was cause my Uncle & cousin read all the books of the dark tower & they loved the series, & talked about it being some of the best work Stephen King has ever written. Well this is actually the third book I've read of the towers but the first one was written between like the last two books of the series & was read by King himself. Cause all the reviews said that was a good book but they didn't like King reading it, so I did that one first so him reading it wouldn't make it any less of a book. And honestly, King read it much better. I'm not too fond of Frank Muller, but the two dark tower books he read are the only ones I've heard from him, so I can't say exactly that he sucks. But anyway, the second book did get a lot better than the first one. I actually wish I had started with the second book & never listened to the first one. I would actually recommend to anyone who would listen that if u want to start reading the dark tower series, skip book one & start with book 2. You can thank me later. :) I'm just hoping book 3 is better than the second one, cause if not, I might not get to book 4... I'd give it 3 1/2 stars if it would let me.

Hunting monsters was supposed to be the hard part. When Joy came to Apex City, all she cared about was protecting the Cits from the dangers lurking outside protective barriers. She understood the need for the secrecy surrounding her hunts - no need to cause a panic by announcing just how real of a threat the Othersiders pose. But as she quickly discovered, the conspiracies of the city run much deeper. And a dangerous new covert mission leaves Joy with a target on her back once more.

It was definitely worth a couple credits for. Idk if there is going to be another book in this series but I really hope there is. I've seen other reviews how people are saying it's another teen book series and I say to those people, no it's not... I'm in my 40s and I really liked both books. So there, take that...
