In this landmark work, Kaplan describes her strategy in the lower courts and her preparation and rehearsals before moot courts, and she shares insights into the dramatic oral argument before the Supreme Court justices. Then Comes Marriage is the story of the relationship behind the watershed case, Kaplan's own difficult coming-out journey, and the fascinating unfolding of United States v. Windsor.

On the heels of another anniversary of a historic day for equality in the US, June 26, 2015, will forever be a day that will be cherished and remembered by all that LOVE WINS! Then Comes Marriage: United States v. Windsor and the Defeat of DOMA shows us that love not always won, but those who fought and persevered for equal rights not only won the fight against DOMA, but also paved the way for the rights we have today! This part memoir, part legal procedure story tells us about how Roberta Kaplan took on Edith (Edie) Windsor's case against the advice of others and won! The trials and tribulations that both Roberta and Edith went though from the lower courts of Manhattan all the way to the Supreme Court to fight for marriage quality is undeniably moving and brilliant!

A sexually charged and wickedly funny thriller starring Tony Award-winning actor Billy Crudup, Harry Clarke is the story of a shy Midwestern man leading an outrageous double life as the titular cocky Londoner. Moving to New York City and presenting himself as an Englishman, he charms his way into a wealthy family's life as the seductive and precocious Harry, whose increasingly risky and dangerous behavior threatens to undo more than his persona.

The anchor of The O'Reilly Factor recounts one of the most dramatic stories in American history—how one gunshot changed the country forever. In the spring of 1865, the bloody saga of America's Civil War finally comes to an end after a series of increasingly harrowing battles. President Abraham Lincoln's generous terms for Robert E. Lee's surrender are devised to fulfill Lincoln's dream of healing a divided nation. But one man and his band of murderous accomplices are not appeased....

This book appealed to me since I am a huge history fan, but also because there has been a ton of controversy surrounding it. While some don't like O'Reilly himself narrating the book I believe that anyone who is interested in history should give the audio version a try. I can guarantee you will learn things that you never know, and I enjoyed how it felt like real "first hand knowledge." While some may allow their personal feelings about the author to get in the way, I'm sure if it was written by someone else people would not be so critical. I encourage everyone to try to put aside their feelings and give it a try.

In this wickedly honest new work, Chelsea Handler casts the net wider with even funnier results, recalling the most noteworthy highs and lows of her life to date - including her efforts to diversify by dating red-haired men, her obsession with midgets, and the dog-sitting interlude in which her boyfriend became overly familiar with a Peekapoo.
