Best-selling author and human guinea pig A. J. Jacobs puts his life to the test and reports on the surprising and entertaining results. He goes undercover as a woman, lives by George Washington’s moral code, and impersonates a movie star. He practices "radical honesty", brushes his teeth with the world’s most rational toothpaste, and outsources every part of his life to India—including reading bedtime stories to his kids.

I had read The Know It All and really enjoyed it, but in this book the author isn't as clever or funny. He comes off much more arrogant and the pieces seem thrown together.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I'm not sure. Possibly Navy SEALS or veterans.

What was most disappointing about Tom Clancy’s story?

It was terribly boring. I can't believe I listened to the whole thing. I was excited to hear about some SEALS adventures and the releationships between the men and women who do this kind of thing in a fictional setting, but it was so slow and the details were so repetitive that I lost a lot of interest. This is also a TERRIBLE storyline and the ending didn't wrap anything up for me. Bummer.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

There wasn't a whole lot to detract from, but it was very difficult to tell different sections of the book apart. The characters didn't have a lot of variety either.

What character would you cut from Rainbow Six?

All of them. Especially Chavez.

Enzo knows he is different from other dogs: a philosopher with a nearly human soul (and an obsession with opposable thumbs), he has educated himself by watching television extensively and by listening very closely to the words of his master, Denny Swift, an up-and-coming race car driver.

What made the experience of listening to The Art of Racing in the Rain the most enjoyable?

I really enjoyed how the story seemed to flow well and the humanness of Enzo. Pretty much just Enzo altogether.

What did you like best about this story?

I really got into how Enzo viewed the world and how he interacted with people to help them with their emotions. You can't help but think of your pets' having the same thoughts after listening to this book.

Have you listened to any of Christopher Evan Welch’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I haven't, but I would certainly listen to another. He did a great job, his voice is easy to listen to.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

So you think your mascara is really waterproof, huh?
