The colony world Adirondack and Silvern fell to the Troft forces almost without a struggle. Outnumbered and on the defensive, Earth made a desperate decision. It would attack the aliens not from space, but on the ground - with forces the Trofts did not even suspect. Thus were created the cobras, a guerrilla force whose weapons were surgically implanted, invisible to the unsuspecting eye, yet undeniably deadly.

Little action and Lots of talk

Overall
1 out of 5 stars

Reviewed: 10-18-10

This was not what I thought it was. I purchased this because I read the “Star Wars Thrawn Trilogy” years ago and really enjoyed it, and I thought that this would be an action packed “ Military Science Fiction” story which it was not. It started out OK and it did have some action around the start of the book but most of it was just talking and politics. If I want politics I'll watch the news! If you want action and suspense then I wouldn't bother with this. I think that Timothy Zahn is a very good writer and by all means there should be a live-action film adaptation of the Star Wars thrawn trilogy or at least a CGI animated one. Its just that this book was not for me

In this riveting new thriller, Lincoln Child weaves together a stunning Arctic landscape, a terrifying mythic creature, and a pervasive mood of chaos and fear. With Terminal Freeze, Child demonstrates why he has become a major best-selling author, and why his novels electrify and enthrall so many.

Beware the monster from he ice!

Overall
5 out of 5 stars

I found that this book reminded me very much like the 1951 movie: The Thing from Another World; with the setting of it being set in the ice and that there was a monster lurking around. It also reminded me a little of a slasher movie with how there were people mysteriously being gruesomely murdered. I think that this would make a good movie if it had the right director. Terminal Freeze is not an orginal idea but it was a good story and I recommend it

After six incredible books, John Marsden has written the final volume and a last adventure for Ellie, Lee, Homer, Fi, and Kevin. It may be the end of the series, but does it mean the end to Australia as we know it or the end of the war? Or both?

Will I find another series as good?

Overall
5 out of 5 stars

Reviewed: 10-16-10

I've said that this whole series is great and I have nothing but praise for it. The only thing is that I am not very confident that I'll find another series of Audio books as good as this one. One thing I liked about this was that it never actually said what country the invaders were from, I really appreciated that because if Australia was invaded who's to say what country it would be. I have seen the movie of the first book and there's talk about making two more movies, I thought that the movie was very faithful to the book apart from a few minor differences. I really enjoyed all of these books and I highly recommend them to anyone of all ages

Its wrote for young adults but people of all ages enjoy these books, and the Narratar of the Audio series is great. Each book is as equaly as good they all have plenty of exitment and suspence and are fast paced. My favourite Character in the series other then “Ellie” is “Homer” Though all the Characters are likable

They are the enemy. And they're still out there. They're in your street, your home, the safest places you know. You feel their hot breath, even in the depths of hell. Ellie and Homer are out there too. Lee and Fi and Kevin. They've forgotten what it means to be safe. Sometimes they feel like there's nowhere left for them. They may be right.
