After 5 chapters, I just gave up. SOOOO BORING! I have no idea how this reached publication. There is nothing of interest and Sims is clearly still enamored with Donald. Also a good friend of Sessions, which is all you need to know about the author. Don't waste your time. Buy something else.

Great storytelling of a terrifying time, but what captured my attention was the historical aspect of the story. Capuzzo captures the class distinctions and recreates the anxiety a lack of science at the time adds to the suspense. Loved the way he unravels the mystery and fear.

Incredible story and thorough research.

I love true crime, and this book is easily the best of the genre. I could not stop listening. McNamara's comprehensive investigation and subsequent storytelling is both scholarly and accessible. What a gift that we have this book even though we have lost her voice.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I would not recommend it to anyone.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Some true crime.

What didn’t you like about the narrators’s performance?

The female voice was nasal and annoying.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

The premise and the mystery was interesting, but not enough to listen past the 6 hour mark.

Any additional comments?

Very disappointing story, weak characterization, and far-fetched story telling. What 6th grade boy falls in love for life or thinks romantically like an adult?
