FBI agent Savannah Casillero never backs down. She already lost her partner on this case, and now she's more determined than ever to find Sergey Karev's killer. With the Mafia's former head of security under her thumb, she finally has a way inside - as Maxim's girlfriend. Controlling the lone wolf may be a bit of challenge, but Savannah's confident she can handle it. The six-and-a-half-foot Mafia man is certainly not her type, but she'll do more than play along to make it believable.

In the beginning it is hard to get past some of the character flaws...Aden is arrogant and cold. Sid also has her own issues. It broke my heart to learn of Aden's past growing up a slave in Morocco with such a horrible mother.

Although this book follows her formula of hot sexy vampire and a strong independent woman that have to face many challenges and threats it was had a storyline that kept me listening and wanting to know what would happen. It is a good addition to the series.

A quick advisory: This book does have some BDSM elements

Let me start off by saying that this book has a lot of great things about it, but it just kept falling short! The entire plot line was rushed...and there were conflicting details about the known existence of wolfs and how everyone talked openly and handled finding out and then didn't reveal to others. Also, I didn't feel the HEAT between these two either...that too was a bit rushed...or at least their love was....and it wasn't explained as mating heat or anything...he even let her go before. Finally....I really couldn't buy into how quickly the wolves just forgave her for being an assassin of their kind, or that she came to terms with it that quickly. For that matter how she could in one evening go from hating ALL wolves to sleeping with one.

Again, great ideas with good twists but it needed to be flushed out more.

Huge cliffhanger at the end...it did leave you wanting more.

Ok there are a few scenes were some readers maybe a little uncomfortable. There is M/M that is between his sire and a vamp...who refers to all he sires as his sons. Another word of warning...this is a bit darker at times and have a few graphic and violent scenes.

There are many twist and turns, but what all can you really do when you are under the control of your sick sire and you want to fight for a woman...this is that tale. Loved getting the multiple POV...although didn't like everyone's minds.

That quote kept playing in my mind when I was listening to this book as our "little mermaid" fell in love with our "angel". A fun, exciting listen! This almost reminds me of Guardian's of the Galaxy in the sense that a band of the most unlikely of heroes that are more like outlaws with all of their character flaws and yes some illegal activity, all work together and save the humans! I loved all their snarky barbs they threw at each other, their personalities and trying to piece together more about them.

Although this is sci-fi, it didn't feel like it. This story was more about the intensity of their dangerous mission, meeting and getting to know some of this unlikely band of heroes. Although our H/H seem like complete opposites, they come together and when they do it is HOT, but by no means is that the focus of this book.

We are left with a teaser of what is going to come and I can't wait until book 2 is out!

This was great! A completely new and inventive storyline that kept me listening. It was a bit sci-fi, but a paranormal and fantasy too.The right combination of background story, excitement, mystery, humor, lust and character development....and it left me wanting more of the story. I love Freya's character...the wolf girl and forbidden crossbreed. She is so strong yet vulnerable. Both of our H/H have a bit of self discovery yet, but I can't wait. Great from beginning to end! There is still soooo much I need to know, this does leave us with a cliffhanger...I just can't wait to see what happens next!
