I've never been afraid of the dark...but that doesn't mean I wanted to live in it. Maybe everyone wants what they can't have, but I should've thought it over before I unlocked the door to their forbidden world. Number One is mostly silent. He watches me very carefully. Number Two is mostly gentle. But it's the other side of him I like best. Number Three is mostly reserved. It was carnal, it was sensual, and it was erotic. That's it. That's all it was supposed to be. A trip into the dark. A peek into the forbidden. I just didn't expect to like them.

It's CHRISTMAS in June. I just found me another AH-MAZ-ING author!

I LOVED this book. I adored the characters and I cannot wait to jump into the next one.

I went in blind and where can I get my membership?

I wish Audible still had the gift option. I had to tell my friends to literally, DO NOT PASS GO OR COLLECT $200- HEAD STRAIGHT TO AUDIBLE AND BUY THIS BOOK! Then I ended it with, WELCOME TO THE DARK SIDE.

Defeat the enemy. Win the boy. Live happily ever after. But life "ever after" isn't as easy as it used to be. Harper's gone from being a member of a small demon lair to co-Prime of one of the most powerful lairs in the US, with a mate who, though hot as hell, is just a mite overprotective. Then one of Knox's demons goes rogue and in his madness decides Knox Thorne must die. Harper's worried. Knox isn't - at least until he discovers his mate's willingness to get between him and danger.

I thoroughly enjoyed book 2. So much so when I saw that I rated Burn 3 STARS on Goodreads (it wasn't out on Audible) when I read it; I am now doing a reread.

Between the psychic fingers, the hellhound & hellcat I was literally screaming with laughter.

Harper's voice grated on my nerves! And I wasn't thrilled listening to Knox's demon, which is a huge disappointment considering how much I adore both. This was SO, SO CLOSE to a 5 STAR read for me!

I was standing at the bar and waiting for a friend when it happened. When my life changed forever. She strutted inside with her head held high with grace, not pretentiousness. With legs that reached her neck, and an hourglass frame perfect for gripping, she got me hard instantly. And those green eyes got the rest of my body hard too.

If all of the books were available I would clear my calendar and just constantly listen. I happen to love Michael Ferraiuolo's voice. He's perfect for these dark characters. But because I have an Audible addiction, yes I admit it. Ha His voice pulls me back to other characters I fell in love with, that I had to put them out of my head and just ride the waves of Michael's voice. I love how he can sound like the exact emotion the character is feeling.

I am ready for the next book!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, I actually contacted Audible via chat because I couldn't find a way to buy this audiobook as gifts to several friends and was told this wasn't an option anymore on Audible.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Atlas. Everyone needs an Atlas.

Which character – as performed by Olivia Song – was your favorite?

Again its Atlas. But Olivia Song did a wonderful job bringing the characters to life.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Of course I did. I not only cried- I cried for hours after.

Any additional comments?

I was scared to read this book because everyone kept telling me how it tore them apart. And I am no stranger to Colleen Hoover, therefore, I am very well aware of how magical her words are. I also knew I needed to be in the right state of mind. I say all of that to say, that I didn't read any reviews, so I didn't have a clue what was going to happen. I loved going into this blind and having to just ride it out. This Ends With Us was not at all what I expected! And I am happy to say that I became a member of "this book tore me apart" club.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

A different narrator. One whose voice didn't sound like he was the narrator on a World War I public school documentary.

What could Anna Zaires and Dima Zales have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Emily wasn't likable for me. She drove me crazy.

Would you be willing to try another one of Roberto Scarlato’s performances?

NO!

What character would you cut from The Krinar Captive?

A new Emily.

Any additional comments?

This may have been a star higher if I read the book instead of listening to it. But that's about it.

Where does Swallowing Darkness rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

That's a difficult question. I mean I have listened to hundreds of audiobooks. I honestly have no clue where to rank this book out of all of the ones I listened to. However, this one and the last book are my favorites so far in this series.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Swallowing Darkness?

Finding out who killed Merry's father.

What does Claudia Black bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I thought Claudia did an excellent job of bringing emotion to the characters. I also loved her accent for Merry.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I pretty much did listen to this all in one sitting. I started this morning at 9am and finished at 4pm. A few breaks in between to be an adult, but other than that I was hooked.

Any additional comments?

I know a lot of reviews complained about the switch in narrators. I thought it was a refreshing change. I was ecstatic not to have to hear the same laugh that the Queen has for every character. I also liked the accent of the new narrator for some of the characters and how she switched and the accent wasn't there for others. This narrator brought to life the scenes for me. I felt as though I was watching it all play out at the movies.

Would you consider the audio edition of A Lick of Frost to be better than the print version?

I wouldn't know. I have not read the print version.

What other book might you compare A Lick of Frost to and why?

Hmmm. Frost reminds me of the Psy in Nalini Singh's PsyChangeling series. Frost is reminiscent of Judd to me. However, I wouldn't necessarily say A Lick of Frost is comparable to Caressed by Ice.

Have you listened to any of Laural Merlington’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have. I have listened to all of this series so far and am about to move on to the next. For me this was the BEST yet. I loved the sound effects with the press and mirror conversation's.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Can your heartbreak and love surge within at the same time......

Would you listen to Wicked Abyss again? Why?

Yes I would listen again. Kresley Cole is my go to author. She is the one who never let's me down. I am in love with the IAD series. My only disappointment was with Lothaire's mate. I wish Lothaire's mate was more like Lila.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Wicked Abyss?

I would say when Rune told Sian that their children could play together. And then Sian realized that Lila didn't care what their children would be, only that she wanted to have babies with him. I loved that. Lila loved the beast.

Which scene was your favorite?

There were so many. But if I had to choose just one it would be when Sian was defending himself without hurting any of the fey. Even though he was being shot with arrows and consistently harmed. He made a vow to Lila and wouldn't break it. Then Lila realizes what is happening and screams for him to fight back.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes. Again I would go back to the reason why I would listen to this again. Lila loved Sian for who he is...nothing else. Pure unconditional love.

Any additional comments?

I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE. IN THE MEAN TIME I WILL BE BUYING THE AUDIBLE VERSION OF ALL THE OTHER BOOKS THAT I HAVE READ & WILL BEGIN LISTENING FOR MY REREAD OF THE SERIES.
