Growing up, the three of us were friends. He was the nerd. I was the playboy. She was the beauty. Deep down, I only ever wanted her. I kept it inside because Rory and I made a pact that our friend, Amber, was off-limits. He lied. I went off to college, and he got the girl. Amber never knew how I felt. They were together for years - before he broke her heart. Through it all and across the miles, she and I casually stayed in touch. When my job sent me to Boston for a three-month contract position, Amber let me stay in her spare room.

I enjoyed reading this book. The story, based on childhood friendships that got tangled in adulthood, pulled at your heartstrings. The author did a good job building each of the characters. The love scenes were short and not too detailed. I prefer to use my imagination instead of having to fast forward through WTMI (Way Too Much Information). I discontinued my Romance package because of this very thing. I would recommend this book as an easy summer read.

WOW! If you find yourself getting lost in the book after a few chapters, listen to the beginning again. I did this after I finished the book and the book made more sense. Still, the entire book was awesome. You really get to know the characters for good or bad. The tension stays with you as layers unfold. I would recommend this book!!

Wow, just Wow! Fantastic entertainment. The Woman in the Window and Something in the Water are my favorite books so far this year! I read a lot and I was thoroughly entertained by this story. I hope she writes a sequel with these characters. I fell in love with all of them, except of course the dead ones!

This book is a true crime story. I hope that this story can open some eyes and ask the question Do we really know who children hand out with? I enjoy listening to Kevin Pierce read books written by Jack Olsen. This author writes true events in a methodical way allowing the reader to easily understand when and how the story took place. The narration is excellent! The evil people in this book actually manipulated the children and adults around them into thinking they were good After their arrest and bodies found, there were still people sticking to the false integrity these monsters portrayed. This book was given to me by the narrator for an unbiased review

This short story was absolutely entertaining with a capital E! It drove me crazy trying to figure out just what was going to happen next!! The characters were real and brought you into the story as a bystander. As a girl, I found myself not understanding why boys feel the need to fight each other over taunting, but even these fights were explained by the teller of the story. The book may seem far-fetched, but is based on a true story! Unbelievable. I really enjoyed the narrator and will listen to him again. I would recommend this book to a friend. I received this book at no cost by the author for an unbiased review. Good work!

The narrator was incredible. The characters were well defined. The plot kept you guessing. For me, I just could not believe all the bad that happened to mother. Child protective services, the police, attorneys, and anyone knowing anything about her, would never have believed she had anything to do with all of the charges she was convicted of. Having said that, I still enjoyed the book and really enjoy Brad Parks' writing. I will continue to read his books. Sometimes we just need to be entertained with way off the Richter scale storylines!

What a hoot! This is not a book I would necessarily read, however it was given to me free of charge by the author for an unbiased review. The book is part two in a series and the end leaves you in the story "with more to come". I did not read the first book, but it is not necessary to enjoy the second book. Infidelity, meth cooking, oxy, single mothers, and murder are all included in this crazy story. If you enjoy "Housewives of ...." you may be a candidate to listen to this book. The narration is good.

I would listen for awhile and then listen to another book and come back to this one. The narration was flat to me and I could not differentiate between characters. I received this book free of charge from the narrator for a non-biased review.

Therese Plummer is such a talent that she makes ANY audio book come to life. I have never read anything by this author, however, the book intrigued me enough to purchase it for 4.95 during a sale. I enjoyed it so much that I will read the 2nd one when it goes on sale. $26.00 for an audiobook is way too much for an unknown author. I can not decide whether this should be read as a sci-fi. It was an enjoyable read and for the right price, I will read the next one because I liked the characters and want to see what happens to them in another adventure.
