Historian Lizzie Petrie remains nothing more than a lesbian in her bitter mother’s eyes. The suppressed hurt of that superficial assessment means she still catches herself off guard when thinking of Sarah as her wife. The couple has endured the fallout of Lizzie’s insecurities and set up house in Fort Collins, Colorado. Now their relationship is about to be tested again.

I loved the audio edition of A Woman Ignored. I can really identify with a woman struggling to “act” normal. Trying to fit in. Sometimes the teasing Lizzie gets from her wife and best friend seem a little to harsh to me. Stephanie Murphy does an excellent job with the narration.

Chase Banter thought her life couldn't get any weirder. Her mother has taken up private investigating, her writers' group's helpful suggestions have led to severe writer's block, and her girlfriend's family is nuts. Growing up isn't high on her list of priorities. What grip Chase has on her life is severely challenged when her girlfriend tells her about the little oops at the gynecologist. Seems the doctor mixed up the rooms, and now Gitana is pregnant. The reality of Gitana's radiant glow - and growing waistline - finally convinces Chase to accept that she's about to become a parent.

I loved the audio edition of Family Affair. I had already read the book. The audio adds more to the story. The struggle that Chase is going thru seems more real. Layce Gardner does an excellent job with the narration. There are many examples of laugh out loud lines. But the description of what happens at a Fondue restaurant is absolutely priceless.

Short note: The audio version narrator calls the book title as Unleashed:Case of the GOLDEN Retriever, both at the beginning and ending of the audio version. Surprised that was left to stand.

Personal trainer Rebecca McCall is furious when her coworker is sidelined and she's forced to teach the “Be Your Best Bride” class. As if being a size two for your wedding photos is all for which exercise is good. Could the whole thing get more vain and sexist? The class is full of preening, giggling bridezillas, but one woman stands out: the one who confesses she's only there because her fiancée signed her up. Who does that to someone about whom they care? And why can't Rebecca take her eyes off her?

When Laura Fry returns to her childhood home to care for her invalid mother, she hopes the writer’s block that has swallowed her writing career will disappear. She doesn’t plan on turning into a “yard girl” but her mother’s long neglected lawn beckons her to return it to the lush and colorful display it had been before her mother’s accident. She also doesn’t plan on making friends with the “nympho lesbian” next door but she finds it impossible not to watch the parade of playmates the neighbor brings to her pool.
