Terrorists-for-hire have created a weapon that can induce earthquakes and cause dormant volcanoes to erupt. One terrifying side effect of the weapon is that prior to the devastation, the vibrations drive ordinary people to suicide and violence. A wave of madness begins sweeping the country beginning with a mass shooting in Congress. Joe Ledger and his team go on a wild hunt to stop the terrorists and uncover the global superpower secretly funding them. At every step the stakes increase as it becomes clear that the endgame of this campaign of terror is igniting the Yellowstone caldera.

Return to the zombie apocalypse wasteland that is the Rot & Ruin in this short story collection from Jonathan Maberry. Benny Imura's zombie-infested adventures are well-chronicled in the gripping novels Rot & Ruin, Dust & Decay, Flesh & Bone, and Fire & Ash. But what else was happening while he was on his quest? Who were the others navigating the ravaged landscape full of zombies? Bits & Pieces fills in the gaps about what we know about First Night, surviving the plague, and traveling the land of Rot & Ruin.

The first half of the book clears up some of the back stories for the previous books, but the second half is money!!! I found myself feeling a little melancholy near the end. Not going to spoil things. The grandchildren Baskerville, Grim, and Ghoulie. I am sure there are two parents who are very proud of their family. I can only hope they went out the right way.

As always and with great sincerity, I want to thank Ray Porter and Jonathan Maberry. One hell of a tag team.

I played all those cool video games. I watched all those movies. I even read the books. In most of 'em, the hero shoots the bad guys, drives a sweet car, never gets hungry, and always seems to get laid by the end. Yeah. Whatever. I gotta be straight with you about why I wrote this journal, and it comes down to one thing, the apocalypse kinda sucks. It doesn’t meet my expectations at all.

Here's the thing, if you read the book and found it rough or too full of political POV's, then you are exactly what the book is about. It was never meant to be a sci fi thriller or zombie first person shooter novel. Instead, it offer a humorous and sarcastic view of the various issues leading to the downfall of our society. I am not sure our planet will see future societies.

As for Ray Porter, well, as they say in the baseball, this was a fastball right in his wheelhouse. A GRAND SLAM for Ray and his fans. You get the full gambit with Ray's narration. As a child of the 60's, I found myself saying a lot of the same things with the same sarcasm as Ray infused to this tale. Thank you again Ray Porter.

Great epilogue. I have to say, it was refreshing to hear the tag team explain things. Look forward to your next installment.

Would you listen to Joe Ledger again? Why?

Try and stop me. Tell me you understand,,,,,, TELL ME YOU UNDERSTAND!!!!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Uh, wrong question. There are some still with us and some in the valley. I can hear all their voices. Chatterbox, Dancing Duck, and Grace....oh, Grace. Ghost has a voice now and that ROCKS!!! Thank you Ray Porter.

Which scene was your favorite?

Why in the wide blue F&*^%...... usually leads into my favorite scenes.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Ironically, there was a difference in Ray Porter's voice when he reads different authors. There is a slight change in cadence and rhythm. Ray came back on point with the final story, which of course was written by Mayberry. Ray reads Jon with the true voice of Joe, Bunny, Top, and of course, Deacon.

Any additional comments?

I am worried now. I know things must change. Readers of Game of Thrones can tell you that a favorite character is never safe, but I have to say, if Ghost dies from anything other than natural causes i.e. chewing on a raw hide on his favorite pillow beside his fireplace, well, I know what Joe would do!!!!

When retired senior CIA analyst Rico Perris plunges off a cliff in his vintage Porsche while speeding through the mountains of Colorado late one snowy night, the local sheriff rules it an accident. CIA officials, however, suspect otherwise. Their suspicions are soon heightened after two other former intelligence analysts turn up dead under questionable circumstances. All three victims were once assigned to the same top-secret project: an internal review of the CIA's long-rumored involvement in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.
