It's been a while since we first met Lee Child's Jack Reacher in Killing Floor. Fifteen years and sixteen novels later, Reacher still lives off the grid, until trouble finds him, and then he does whatever it takes, much to the delight of listeners and the dismay of villains. Now someone big is looking for him. Who? And why? Hunting Jack Reacher is a dangerous business, as FBI Special Agents Kim Otto and Carlos Gaspar are about to find out.

The story was decent, nowhere near Lee Child’s skills tho. But the narrator. Man, I’ve heard more life in Siri’s voice. She was so robotic. I kept waiting to hear, “Danger Will Robinson! Danger!” It almost made it unbearable to finish. Buyer beware.

On Batuu, at the edges of the Unknown Regions, a threat to the Empire is taking root - its existence little more than a glimmer, its consequences as yet unknowable. But it is troubling enough to the Imperial leader to warrant investigation by his most powerful agents: ruthless enforcer Lord Darth Vader and brilliant strategist Grand Admiral Thrawn. Fierce rivals for the emperor’s favor, and outspoken adversaries on Imperial affairs - including the Death Star project - the formidable pair seem unlikely partners for such a crucial mission.

I was so excited to read about another Thrawn book coming out that I pre-ordered it during the first week it was available for purchase. I thoroughly loved all of the Thrawn books before this one. But, alas, that was not the case for Thrawn: Alliances. It had very few captivating moments for me. I found the story weak and boring for the most part. Padmé is an irritating character, but what was more irritating than her was hearing “Double Vision” a hundred times. How did we go from “stretching out with this Force” to “Double Vision”? All that was missing was hearing Lion-O telling the Sword of Omens to give him “sight beyond sight”. Cheesy. It was all I could do to finish it. I know this review is against the grain. And I assure you, I am a HUGE Star Wars fan. But this....this was a wasted credit.

At once wildly original and stuffed with irresistible nostalgia, Ready Player One is a spectacularly genre-busting, ambitious, and charming debut—part quest novel, part love story, and part virtual space opera set in a universe where spell-slinging mages battle giant Japanese robots, entire planets are inspired by Blade Runner, and flying DeLoreans achieve light speed.

I found some of the characters too weak and whiney. Also, the author makes sure that there are plenty of homosexuals in this story. I may be wrong, but I don't recall any other stories that had gay people in it. I guess Star Wars is PC now. Can't just have an sci-fi action story. Got to appeal to everyone I guess.
